Eloise Arlene Benson was born on April 8, 1937, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, James Groves and Lucille Jones Groves. She was the only child born to this union. As a child, she enjoyed sitting and watching her mother cook. She also enjoyed horseback riding and the many family visits to the mountain. She received her formal education in Denver, where she graduated from Manual High School. On October 22, 1960, Eloise united in holy matrimony to Stanley Benson in Denver. To this union, Renee, Clifton and Andre were born. They all remember her taking them out to eat; she watching the Young and Restless soap opera and she cooking big family meals on holidays. They also remember her loving her dog "Diamond." She was later blessed with ten grandchildren, Chastity, Jay, Kajaitani, Andre, Jr., Nevaeh, Isabella, Abigail, Dayzhanie, Elonna and Ecstasy, and nine great grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. They too remember her taking them to Olive Garden to dine, giving them money on birthdays, teaching them to cook, watching them dance and teaching and reading the Bible to them. By profession, Eloise worked in Accounting for the Albertsons' Grocery Chain in their Shipping and Receiving Department. She is remembered as being hard working, dependable and working well with others. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Eloise was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church. Eloise was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. Her closest friends, Gwen and Wacie will remember the special moments they shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She also enjoyed watching cooking shows on television and shopping. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Eloise was to love her. She is preceded in death by a son, Clifton Dillard and her parents, James and Lucille Groves. Eloise Arlene Benson departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on July 28, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her daughter, Renee D. Linzy of Denver and her son, Andre J. Perkins, Sr. of Brighton, CO; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.
