Elizabeth Stubblefield

April 3, 1925 — February 9, 2015

Elizabeth Marie Stubblefield was born to Allen George Adams and Savanna Sutton Adams on April 3, 1925, in Grand Chain, Illinois. At a very young age, she accepted the Lord in her life. Elizabeth moved to Denver Colorado in 1963, and married her childhood sweetheart Warren G. Stubblefield. Warren preceded her in death. Throughout her life, Elizabeth developed enduring friendships beginning at a young age because of her warm heart and engaging spirit. Raised by a wonderful parents and two aunts, Mariah and Fannie, she learned to be hospitable and giving to all, especially her family. The neighborhood and Lovejoy High School were the places where she began lifelong friendships. Her siblings who preceded her in death are Odie, Tiece E., Vernon D., Theonzo, Everett, and Ionie Adams. She has one living sister, Josephine Anderson. The family loved each other and grew up in a caring and loving home. Cosmetology School in Detroit, Michigan; prompted Elizabeth's career goal to become a great Beautician. Being an organized and goal oriented person, she earned her beautician license. After many years of doing hair professionally, her hands would not allow her to continue working as a Beautician. She became a domestic worker and worked many years serving others. Elizabeth joined Zion Baptist Church in Denver, Colorado in the eighties and served faithfully until she was no long able to do so. She was appointed as Deaconess by Dr. Wendell T. Liggins in 1986, and served for 29 years. She was also a member of the Ruth Circle and the General Missionary Society. She supported the church financially; as well as being willing to serve whenever asked. She loved cooking. She prepared many meals for specials events at the church. Every Christmas, she presented the pastor and his wife with a coconut cake. Baking was her specialty; therefore, she would prepare many lemon, chocolate, coconut and caramel cakes. What a beautiful woman of servitude. Elizabeth always cared for those she loved. For the past 9 and a half years, she offered up close care for her sister, Josephine Anderson, who had suffered a stroke. She was also a caregiver to her oldest brother, Odie Adams. She facilitated housing care for many as a housing provider. She was instrumental in her nephew, Pastor Robert Woolfolk moving to Denver and provided a foundation that he has developed into a comprehensive ministry at the Agape Christian Church in Denver. Elizabeth's impact on others will be felt for future generations because she lovingly served her friends, and family with her down to earth goodness, compassion and unerring kindness and love. We love you and will miss your ministry to all. Elizabeth Marie Stubblefield departed this life on February 9, 2015, in Denver, Colorado.
