Elizabeth Garcia

February 3, 2000 — July 18, 2017

Elizabeth Caroline Garcia was born on February 3, 2000, prematurely six week before her due date, in Denver, Colorado. She just couldn't wait to get started on her path. Elizabeth was lovingly called, “Lizzy” by her family and friends. As a child, Lizzy loved the Teletubbies and she had each one of the characters from the TV series. Lizzy attended school in the Aurora Public School District. She attended Altura Elementary, East Middle School, Hinkley High School, and Aurora Public Schools (APS) Online. Lizzy was an amazing young lady, who loved to laugh, smile, sing, hang out with her family and friends, and she also loved to dance the night away. She always wanted to live life to the fullest, no regrets as she smiled and enjoyed to sing loudly and a little out of tune but that didn't stop her. She would always lend an ear or two, listening so that she could encourage someone by saying, “Everything will be alright, just you wait and see.” She loved to care for animals. Her pets, Boogies, Cleopatra, Ebonique, and Teddy will miss Lizzy’s love, attention, and care. She would display the character to heal and make all things better for all including the animals. Elizabeth enjoyed going to the mountains and walking in the rain. The views of the magnificent creations brought thoughts into her mind, that would be transformed onto her notepad. Lizzy loved God and would go to Him each day just to find her way. She was a natural nurturer by God’s plan; she did it every day. Lizzy always wanted peace and love; she wished it would always be that way. The love she poured into others was so amazing; by the time she was done, her smile was blazing, and she knew she did a good thing. She would discern the people around her to see and understand their pain just so she could pray. Lizzy would always speak her mind unless it would bring pain to someone else. She was a voice to those who couldn't speak up for themselves. Lizzy was not employed for very long; but she still made a big impact and made people smile as they couldn't believe that she was so respectful and nice. “Hard to believe that she was only 17.” She would try anything, Lizzy was brave with little to no fear until the end. She held the family together as they used to joke and laugh about Lizzy being the family attorney or therapist. She would sit them down and talk things through so that they could live in harmony. She also liked to make sure that all of us were not overwhelmed, so she would tell us when we would go too far, "You are doing too much” or “You are doing the most. "She would take the children under her wings, love them, talk to them, calm them down, and take them to the park. Her sisters, Ashley, Melody, and Zoey, and her brother, Zachary enjoyed going for walks, Netflix binges, camping, reading, and learning to drive with Lizzy. Her favorite saying was always "Turn It Up" as nothing she did was dull. If you left your phone near her and unlocked, it would be hacked and full of selfies with tons of funny faces. Those who would go shopping for clothes with her, would say that she could pull off anything... Like a poncho or a simple t-shirt and rock it! She is remembered most by her beautiful smile. Even when experiencing the worst day, all a person would have to do is, walk by Lizzy and hear her laugh and the day would disappear and be replaced by her bubbly spirit. Lizzy loved hard and with everything she had. She is preceded by her little angel and Bucky... And some others she tried to save but could not. Elizabeth Caroline “Lizzy” Garcia departed this life on July 18, 2017 in Denver, Colorado. She leaves her family to cherish her memories, her mother, Angela (Raymond Maes) Garcia; her father, Danny Sotelo; her sisters, Ashley Garcia, Melody Garcia, Zoey Garcia; her brother, Zachary Garcia; step brothers, Raymond Maes, Jr., and David Maes; grandmother, Teresa Garcia; god father, Daniel Archuleta; god mother, Melanie Strop; uncle, Mario (Breanna) Garcia; nephew, Lil Vaz; god sister, Alexandria (Jacob) Martinez; god brother, Daniel Archuleta, Jr.; and several other aunts, uncles, cousins, siblings, and many many friends. She is also survived by her pets, Boogies, Cleopatra, Ebonique, and Teddy.
