Eleanor Mazique was born on September 14, 1962, in Bronx, New York to her parents, George Robert Mazique and Eleanor Belle. She was the fifth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Harold, Craig, Robert, Shawn, and her sisters, Cecelia, Malva, Valerie, Vernea`ta, April, and Chanel. As a child, she loved to dance, dress up, and play with paper dolls. She also enjoyed going to the park and playing with her sisters and brothers. "Angel" as she was called by family and friends, received her early education by attending the Hillcrest High School in Jamaica Queens, New York. She furthered her education by attending The University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. By profession, Eleanor was employed by the Colorado Department of Transportation as an Administrator. She was hard working, dependable and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. A woman of faith and belief, Eleanor studied as one of Jehovah's Witnesses alongside many of her family members. Eleanor was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed writing poetry, taking her nieces and nephews to the mall and restaurants. She loved conversing with family and friends over the telephone. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Angel was to love her. Eleanor Mazique departed this life on February 21, 2017, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include 4 brothers, Harold L. Thomas of Atlanta, Georgia, Craig C. Mazique of NYC, NY, Robert D. Mazique of Lubbock, TX, and Shawn Mazique of NYC, NY; 6 sisters, Cecilia A. Thomas of Colorado Springs, CO, Malva Curtis of St. Lois, MO, April Mazique (Frank Robinson) of Colorado Springs, Valerie Mason and Verneata Mazique both of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends
