Eddie L. Griffin was born on December 3, 1952 in Lorraine, Texas to Jesse Griffin, Sr. and Ruby Wells. He was educated in the Ector County School District in Odessa, Texas, graduating from Ector High School in 1971. Having confessed and accepted Christ on June 10, 2010, under the leadership of Dr. T.E. Hendricks, Eddie became a member of King Baptist Church where he remained a faithful member until he became unable to attend. Eddie was not active inside the church walls but was active outside the four walls of the church telling everyone he met that, “God is good” and that “God loves him.” Eddie worked 40 years in construction and 25 years with Garthe Construction. He was an avid domino player and loved being around his family. Eddie had such an affection for all of his nieces and nephews that he remembered and called all of them by name. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Griffin; father, Jesse Griffin Sr.; brother, James Griffin; and sister, Juanita Sims.
