Reverend Dr. Frances Juanita Fox "IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY as I pass along… Then my living shall not be in vain" Reverend Dr. Frances Juanita Sudds Fox was born in Mansfield, Louisiana. She was the third of five children born to Jeffrey Sudds & Roberta Whitaker Sudds. As a child, she lived in a Christian community. She was blessed to have both parents highly devoted to God, family, church and the community. Frances married, Dr. Arthur D. Fox. She is the proud parent of three adult children, and three grandchildren. Frances graduated from DeSoto High School. An interesting part of her life was signing the high school mixed choir, girls chorus and soloist for the boy's quartet. Additional education includes the following; University of Colorado – Doctor of Education Degree in School Administration and Supervision; University of Denver – Secondary School Principal Endorsement; Colorado State Department – Type D Administrator Certificate ; Prairie View A&M College – Master of Arts Degree; Southern University – Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education; Adams State College – Courses in Techniques/Deal/with Racism, and Teaching and Thinking, Music/English Teacher – Rosenwell High School, Logansport, Louisiana, Theological Studies; Iliff School of Theology; United Theological Seminary; Consecrated Diaconal Minister 1995; Deacon in Full Connection 1998. Studies and Certificates: Stephen Ministries Training; Clergy Institutes; Church Growth; Conflict Management and Utilization; Quest for Quality – Church Seminar, Child Evangelism Fellowship Level 1, Colorado Inc; Colorado Consulting Services, Inc. – Drug and Substance Addiction. Life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Denver, Colorado. Phi Delta Kappa Professional Organization. At eight years old, Frances was selected to be the President of a group of girls called, The Sunshine Band at East Side Baptist Church, which led to her being a born again Christian and started her journey to do God's will in her life in spite of the odds. Her favorite Bible verses – Psalms 119:11 "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee", 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God…"; Matthew 28:19-21 "Go ye therefore…bring the people in…teaching them as God commanded…and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world"; and 1st Thessalonians 5:24 "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it" – She United and Baptized at St. Elizabeth Baptist Church in Holly, Louisiana. Her hobbies were reading the Bible, good books, and signing her favorite hymns, which are "My Heavenly Father Watches Over Me", "If I Can Help Somebody As I Pass This Way, Then My Living Shall Not Be In Vain', and "It is Well With My Soul." Frances was honored to be designated and approved by the United Methodist Church General Board of Higher Education Bishop to be the United Methodist Church Rocky Mountain Conference Black College Fund contact person promoting the financial support for our United Methodist Church related 11 Historically Black Colleges, Universities, Medical College, and the Black College Fund. After Frances retired she spent her days being a continuing presence in the church. She spent time teaching and working with her three grandchildren, teaching them to be more life Jesus, and to grow up to be all the God wants them to be. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Arthur D. Fox, Sr.; a son, Allen J. Fox; her parents, Jeffery and Roberta Sudds; 2 brothers, Jeffery Sudds and Hurfrey Sudds; a sister, Roberta Marsh. Reverend Dr. Frances Juanita Fox departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on May 19, 2017, in Littleton, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include, 2 sons, Arthur D. Fox, Jr. of Littleton, Colorado and Gregory F. (Paula) Fox of Parker, Colorado; a sister, Earnestine Sudds of Shreveport, Louisiana; 2 grandchildren, Makayla R. Fox and Tyanna N. Fox both of Parker, Colorado; special grandson, Higden Donnell Armstrong; 2 uncles, Green Whitaker and Dave Whitaker both of Shreveport, LA; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
