Douglas Roberson

February 11, 1957 — September 14, 2018

Douglas Lamar Roberson, also known as, “Pepper D,” and “Doug” was born on February 11, 1957, in Culleoka, Tennessee, to Jennie Ann Roberson. As a child, he would help out on the farm. During these younger years, the family decided to move to Denver, Colorado. While in Denver, he completed his formal education in the Denver Public Schools District, graduating for Manual High School in 1975. Doug was also a three-time Tri-State Champion in Martial Arts. Soon after graduation, Douglas enlisted in the United States Army, where he became proficient in hand grenade and an expert in rifle and hand pistol. He received many honors and metals. He was stationed in the US, and Korea. While living in Oakland, California, Doug was honorably discharged from the military and began working in construction. Doug worked in several areas of construction until relocating back to Denver. Doug worked for 18 years as a Rigger for Denver Wire Rope and Chin Supply. He enjoyed working in construction and received the “Employee of the Month” at every job he held. He took great pride in doing his job with excellence. A proud father of two sons, Lenny Dee and Damion Lamar, Doug enjoyed the time they shared and loved his sons. He showed his sons the definition of a protector and a provider. “He was the most stand-up guy I know! Once I got to know him, there was no doubt, Lenny says, I am proud to call him, Pops.” Doug was later blessed with three grandchildren, Khadive, Levi, and Damoni. They were proud to call him “Paw-Paw.” The grandchildren were an additional source of joy in Doug’s life. Doug enjoyed countless hours with family and friends and cheering on his beloved Oakland Raiders. His closest friends will miss the closeness they shared including, “T-Boz” - Terry Mitchell, Gary McKnight, John Young, Jeff Campbell, Richard Mitchell, Danny Qiocho “Samoa”, Larry Copeland “LC”, and Roger Simon “G”. Doug was preceded in death by mother, Jennie Ann Roberson; sister, Rupert Theresa Roberson. Douglas Lamar Roberson, 61, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, in Denver, Colorado.
