Doris Scott

Doris West Scott was born in Silsbee Texas on March 20, 1937 to the parents of Dorothy Williams and Ollie West. Doris had 3 brothers and 2 sisters. She received her high school diploma from Waldo Mathew High School in 1957. Doris went on to further her education by attending Texas Southern University in Houston Texas in 1960. Doris later relocated to Denver, Colorado where she met and married William Scott in 1962. Their reunion blessed them with one son William (Billy) Scott Jr. Doris later received her Associated Degree in Early Childhood Development. She worked for several years in Head Start at various location, where she eventually retired. In her spare time she enjoyed exercising and she loved watches! One of her favorite past times was traveling with her son to New York, San Diego Zoo, Cruises and the Essence Jazz Festival in New Orleans and numerous other locations God chose to pick a flower from this earth and chose Doris to come on up a little higher on July 15th, 2017. The events of our lives, when we let God use them, become the mysterious and perfect preparation for the work he has called us to. The truth is that our trials are a furnace forging us into gold. Doris leaves to cherish her memories one son William (Billy) Scott Jr. Denver, CO, her late husband, William Scott, sister Joyce Lee (Turner) Williams of Silsbee, TX, brother Carlee Williams of Silsbee Texas, brother Roosevelt Johnson (deceased) of Silsbee, TX, brother Jimmie Williams (deceased) of Silsbee, TX, brother John Henry Johnson (deceased) of Silsbee, TX, sister Antoinette Johnson (deceased) of Silsbee, TX. sister-in-law Winifred Woods (deceased), brother-in-laws Robert Scott (deceased) and sister-in-law Barbara Scott (deceased) and Glenora (Scott) Ray (deceased) Denver, CO,. Doris is survived by sister-in-laws Elsie (Scott) Moore Atlanta, GA, LaVonne (Scott) Gilbert Aurora, CO, oldest niece and nephew Elaine Tidmore Denver, CO and Alfred (Sonny) Tidmore Seattle, WA and host of nieces and nephews and family and friends.
