Donald Ray Wright was born on June 17, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas to his parents, Thelma L. Ragsdale (Wright) and Mandzay Wright. After the death of Donald's father, Thelma married Henry Miles, Jr., on June 15, 1959. Both Henry and Thelma Miles had children prior to their marriage, and they raised them together as one family, Henry James of Colorado, Columbus Miles (deceased), Donald Ray along with Paula, Diane, and Michael (Joyce) Wright. To the union of Henry and Thelma, Donald gained six more siblings, Jacqueline, Laurie, David, Joseph, Mary, and Vicki Miles. Donald Ray is survived by two children, Tanisha McNeil and LaMonte Reynolds of Denver. Donald Ray truly loved his parents, and all of his children and grandchildren. Donald Ray attended George Washington High School in Denver, Colorado. Donald learned many skills such as laboring in construction, being an artist, and a musician; he played drums when visiting with family. Donald Ray enjoyed playing domino's, card games, and listening to old school music. Donald Ray was very adamant in reminding all of his siblings he was the oldest and demanded much respect. Donald Ray lived his life to the fullest. He spent many days with his family and friends. Donald accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior years ago. He started reading his bible, going to church, and praying. He was a healthy individual and very independent. He was a very meticulous person when keeping the house clean, pulling weeds outdoors, and other household chores. Donald Ray was sick for years with high blood pressure, which caused his massive stroke on July 30, 2014. After Donald's health began to decline, his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Joyce were very supportive by visiting Donald twice a week, helping him with his range of motion, exercising his arms and legs, and buying the things he needed to stimulate his brain, and they kept him well-groomed. The nursing home facility, Park Forest Care Center, took good care of Donald Ray. Donald Ray Wright was called home on July 11, 2016, surrounded by his family.
