OBITUARY
Dominick Ruquist
In the heart of Denver, on that radiant day of May 9, 1989, the world welcomed Dominick Runquist, a vibrant spirit destined to leave an indelible mark on those he loved. Born to Joann Cobb and McArthur Mitchell, he was the second oldest among five cherished siblings in a family where love overflowed, even in the face of life’s challenges. With an unwavering bond that only a close-knit family can share, they navigated through life together, always supporting one another with warmth and laughter.
As Dominick grew, he blossomed into a dedicated learner, culminating in his graduation from East High School in 2007. His journey soon brought him back to work alongside his father at Colorado Hi-Tech Moving & Storage Company, a bond formed over shared labor. His career took root within the halls of Denver Public Schools, where he donned his custodian’s uniform with pride, embodying the belief that true value lies in what one gives to the world. Dominick’s humility was an inspiration to many, as he consistently put others before himself.
Deeply rooted in his home, Dominick delighted in the simple joys of life: creating melodic tunes, conquering video games, and savoring those refreshing twisted teas. His passions filled the walls of his home, adorned with an extensive collection of movies and games that enriched his days. He found his creativity flowing as he crafted videos, showcasing his impressive rapping skills, each beat echoing the happiness he found in self-expression.
Amidst laughter and camaraderie, Dominick cherished joyful outings with friends at D-Park, where memories were made over laughter and heartfelt conversations, all alongside his beloved twisted teas. The thrill of football season ignited his spirit, with loyalty to the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys reigning strong in his heart.
A diligent worker with a heart of gold, Dominick's dreams soared high as he aspired to design and own his very own t-shirt and shoe company—a testament to his creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. Sadly, he departed this life on February 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and devotion.
He is preceded in death by his birth mom, Debra Runquist . Yet, his memory lingers brightly among those who survive him, his mother Joann Cobb; grandmothers Annie Williams and Wendy Runquist; siblings Danetta Runquist,Sean Runquist ,Kiera Runquist, Whitney Richards), and the latest, Stevie Runquist *RIH*; a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, and endless friends who will forever cherish the moments spent with him.
In loving memory, we hold dear the poignant words of David M. Romaine: “So, when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart, For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.” Dominick Runquist, may your light continue to shine brightly in our lives, forever remembered, forever missed.
