DeVonta’s Story

On January 30, 2002, the world became a bit brighter when a beautiful baby boy made his grand entrance into the world.  DeVonta Deshawn Miles was born in Denver, Colorado, to his loving parents, Quincy and Jeanette.  From the moment he was born, his parents recognized right away that he was a unique young man. DeVonta always had a kind-hearted nature, a radiant smile, and was very easy to get along with.  Among many other attributes he possessed, these qualities made him easy to love right from the very moment his parents laid eyes on him.

DeVonta grew up surrounded by the love and support of his family and friends.  As his brothers and sisters were born, his siblings became an added source of joy in his life.

DeVonta received his formal education, attending elementary school and middle school within the public school system of Colorado.  DeVonta attended Colorado High School from 2019 to 2021.  By profession, DeVonta worked various warehouse jobs and worked in construction services.  His employers and colleagues knew him as someone who was reliable, dependable, and one who was never afraid of a hard day’s work.

DeVonta was a young man full of dreams, goals, and many aspirations.  In his free time, DeVonta enjoyed listening to music.  He had a genuine love for rap and loved rapping the lyrics to his favorite artists and songs.   DeVonta also loved composing his own rap music and also took an attachment to playing basketball.  DeVonta was a member of the Boys and Girls Club of America and participated in several events and activities throughout the city.  DeVonta had many hobbies and often enjoyed spending time with his best friends, Dion, Raynathan, Cornell, Kevin, and Victor, and spending time with his cousins and all of his family.

As he grew into manhood, DeVonta maintained the same kind-hearted nature, radiant smile, and easy to get along with demeanor that he held as a child.  Like all young people, DeVonta was a young man filled with tremendous potential, promise, and an abundance of possibility. While God saw fit to call him home from labor to reward, we take great joy in knowing that he was able to make his mark and leave a lasting imprint on the hearts of all those who were blessed to know him. Devonta's heart passion was spending time with his girlfriend of 3 years Keioshana Gleason and the anticipation of the birth of their child.

DeVonta Deshawn Miles departed this life to the loving embrace of the Lord on October 4, 2021.  He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Quincy Clark of Denver, Colorado; his mother, Jeanette Miles of Wheatridge, Colorado; his siblings, Benjamin Howard-Neuroth, Kashmere Miles, Akira Blakeney, Devereon Miles, Skyla Blakeney, all of Denver, Colorado; grandparents, Billie Bradshaw of Denver, Colorado; Marta Clark of Denver, Colorado; Teresa Avila of Denver, Colorado; and Johnnie Miles of Denver, Colorado; his Godmother, Tielise Miles; his Girlfriend, Keioshana Gleason; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and many friends.
