Derrell Clark Sr.

Derrell Clark was born on August 29, 1960, in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, Bobbie Clar, and Ted Mcgrew. He was the eldest child of four boys. Derrell was raised and educated in Denver, Colorado. Derrell was raised surrounded by his brothers, Dan, Darwin, and Dwaine. His siblings remember Derrell as a child having playful ways and creativity in humoring himself and others. He was always laughing and smiling. Derrell was a very good pencil artist.

Derrell received his formal education from Denver Public Schools, he attended Manual High School then enlisted in the United States Army, where he was trained in telecommunication. He was stationed in Turkey, Germany, and finished his tour at Fort Carson, Colorado. He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army on July 1975. Derrell had an entrepreneur spirit and dream someday owning his own semi-truck. Later, Derrell received the CDL License.

In 2013, he suffered multiple illnesses from meningitis which led to other complications which he never fully recovered. He was in and out of hospitals/rehab centers and nursing facilities. Through all his trials and tribulations, he always managed to keep a positive attitude, warm smile, sense of humor. Derrell was a very kind and loving person.

Derrell's spiritual belief was strong, always giving God praises, and he did not belong to a church. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, and love spending time with his family. His favorite food was menudo, greens, neck bones and chicken.

Derrell Clark departed his life on January 2, 2019, in Aurora, Colorado, and leaves to cherish his memory; his wife Peggy Clark and 11 children, Nikishia Clark, Giovanni Clark, Derrell Clark, Fatima Clark, Dominic Clark, Derrell Clark Junior, Stacy Clemons, Corey Clemons, Marcus Clemons, Quniton Oderson, Tamika Oderson. And grandchildren, Ra'Jon Joseph, Jovai M-Clark, Na'jahalay M-Clark, Lafon Clark, Ajah Clark, Ivahnee Clark, Aaliyah Clark, He will be terribly missed by his brothers, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.
