Dejon Andre Leon Williams was born November 10, 1980 in Denver, Colorado to Paulette Williams and Andre Jones. Dejon was Paulette’s firstborn son and was affectionately called “D”. Two years later, his brother Virgil Anderson IV was born from the union of Paulette Williams and Virgil Anderson III. Dejon took pride in, and immediately embraced his little brother. Dejon was the eldest and was also raised along with his brother, Stephan Anderson, and his sister, Kylah Green. As a child, Dejon was curious, quiet, and very independent. He loved the outdoors both as a child and teenager and loved all school sports, including basketball, football, and wrestling. He was a punishing running back, and a fierce linebacker, which earned him a football scholarship to Adams State College. He attended Aurora Central High School, and Manual High School, and later obtained licensing as a certified personal trainer. He mastered self-studies in the areas of money management, real estate, and entrepreneurship, and was aggressive and determined when it came to his goals. Dejon was also an avid and successful entrepreneur and business man and kept a long-standing career in the health and wellness industry. “D” taught on the importance of obtaining knowledge, and building wealth, and encouraged others to do the same. His daily regimen included exercise, eating healthy, prayer, and reading of the Word. Dejon was passionate about community outreach, and the children of his community, and actively gave back as a basketball coach for three different teams, including for his nieces. Some of his hobbies included traveling, working out, playing basketball. Dejon was also a car enthusiast, and lover of luxury cars. Most importantly, Dejon loved his family and was an extremely protective, family-oriented man. Dejon was indeed raised by a village, and that is what made him great. Dejon is preceded in death by his grandmothers Ara “Penny” Porter, and Ruthenia Anderson-Tindal. Dejon leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving companion Shanan Daugherty (and Lyndon James “LJ”), great grandmother Marian Tindal, grandmother Leota Jones, grandfather William Williams, Father Virgil Anderson III, Mother Paulette Givens, (Kenneth Givens), Brother Virgil Anderson IV (Tania Anderson), Brother Stephan Anderson, Sister Kylah Green, nephew Jalen Anderson, nieces Maya, Virtue & Leilani Anderson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and other relatives.
