Deborah Yvonne Allen was born August 24th, 1953 to Clinton Sr. and Louise Williams in Denver, CO. Affectionately known as DeeDee to childhood friends, she was Debby to others and later in life preferred her full name. As a child Deborah grew up in New Hope Baptist Church and began her lifetime of service by serving as the youth leader during her teenage years and singing in the choir. She later joined the historic First Baptist Church-Bute St. in Norfolk VA. When she relocated to Birmingham, AL. she became a member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Deborah graduated from East High School and attended Colorado State University. Deborah was a proud and active member of Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., and had been for a decade. She cherished the organization and loved their sisterhood. Deborah had a career in real estate (both commercial and residential) that spanned more than 30 years. She had worked in various capacities within the real estate industry from real estate agent to title examiner to underwriter. Deborah left a legacy of love wherever she went. She had an infectious laugh. She was an encourager and sought to inspire others to be their best selves. Deborah Yvonne Allen passed away on July 31, 2017 at her home in Bessemer, AL. She is preceded in death by her parents Clinton Sr and Louise Williams and her brother Clinton Williams Jr. She is survived by daughter Jameka Hartley (Jason), son Jimmie Allen Jr, sister Saundra Miller (Stanton), sister in Law/Love Deborah Ford Williams, and a host of other grandchildren,great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
