Deacon Anthony Glen Johnson (also known as Tick) was born on December 1, 1957 in Shreveport, Louisiana to his parents Millie Jean Watson Johnson Pouncy and Alton Johnson. He was the second oldest of four children. Deacon Johnson received his primary education in Coushatta, Louisiana, where he attended Coushatta High School. He loved sports, baseball and basketball being his favorites. He furthered his education at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana. It was in Coushatta, Louisiana where he met the love of his life, Michelle Williams. They relocated to Denver, Colorado where they united in marriage on April 10, 1998. Anthony and Michelle were both saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the Light of Life Miracle Deliverance Church of God in Christ under the Pastorate of Superintendent Roy W. Sudds. Deacon Johnson was a faithful member of the church and soon thereafter, served on the Deacon Board. He was known for his passion and zeal for God and the ministry. After several years serving on the Deacon Board he became the assistant to Deacon Kenneth Brown (Head Deacon) and continued to work faithfully. Not long after, he was appointed as Head Deacon and served in that capacity until God called him home. There were many facets of the ministry that Deacon Johnson served and assisted in. He was a faithful Board Member of the church, he trained and mentored the Deacon’s, served as the Pastor’s Armor Bearer, and worked untiringly in whatever his hands found to do. Deacon Johnson’s dedication to his local church soon branched out serving in both the District and the Jurisdiction of Colorado. He was the armor bearer to 2nd Administrative Roy W. Sudds. He also served in the Jurisdiction Adjutant Core under Chief Josiah Martin. His love and service in the ministry soon became his signature, he was known as the Deacon who loved God, ministry, and leadership. He also served under Pastor Larry Herron, Deliverance Jesus is Coming for approximately a year. Deacon Johnson was a family man, one who loved and adored his wife children, grandchildren, great grandchild and family. He was one of a kind, a humorous, loving, kind hearted, selfless man. He took great pride in seeing after his wife, his family, and his church. He enjoyed traveling, watching sports with his son-in-law’s and Bidol, his nephew. He was known for his contagious smile and how he entreated those he came in contact with. Deacon Johnson loved many, but had a special love for his closest friends, Jerry Butterfield, Louis Lemon, Laval Grace, and his Pastor, Roy W. Sudds. Deacon Anthony Glenn Johnson was loved by many and will be sorely missed. His legacy will continue on through his wife and children, to know him, was to love him. He was employed at Hensel & Phelps and Adolf & Peterson. He labored in the Construction Industry as a cement finisher for over thirty (30) plus years. Deacon Anthony Glenn Johnson departed this life to the Lord's embrace on June 14, 2018, at SkyRidge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, Millie Jean Johnson Watson Pouncy and Alton Johnson; his son, Anthony Johnson Jr.; his uncle, Edward Watson, and his brother, Deran Banks. He is survived by his devoted wife, Michelle Johnson (Denver, CO.), Eleven (11) children; Antwaine Smith (Houston, TX), Dayton Everette (Shreveport, LA), Leonard Allen (Shreveport, LA), Chandra Wilson (Willie Wilson) (Coushatta, LA), Anthony Smith (Shreveport, LA), Adrian Smith (Shreveport, LA), Michael Johnson (Shreveport, LA), Daryl Williams (Coushatta, LA), Lashanta Nyonee (Deacon Prince Nyonee of Aurora, CO), Karnisha Clements (Elder Tway Clements of Commerce City, CO), Shavonica Tuggle (Elder Michel Tuggle of Denver, CO).
