David Jones

April 1, 1957 — February 22, 2020

David Anthony Jones was born April 1, 1957 in Louisville Kentucky to his parents, Arie Jones and Ella Josephine (Grigsby) Jones. He was the fifth of seven children born to that union. He was raised surrounded by the love of his brothers, Stephen Jones (deceased), Myrrh Jones (Margaret), James Jones (Charlene), John Jones (Michelle) and his sisters, Ariella Majors (Wayne Majors) and Anna Tufaboku.
David started his education at Henry Clay and continued his education at Central High; graduating in the class of 1975. He relocated to Denver Colorado in 1992 where he met the love of his life, Anna Edwards-Jones.
On September 4, 1993 David and Anna united in holy matrimony at New Testament Holiness Church, Denver, Colorado. David and Anna raised two sons, Eric Triss Edwards (Donna Martinez) and Kenneth Edwards (Nichole Edwards). David and Anna shared 28 years of happy and memorable moments together, there was never an unhappy day. He was an extremely loving husband and father. David was later blessed with several grandchildren; De'Vaughn Baker "Debo", Erianna Edwards "Lump of Sugar", Amiya Edwards "Brown Sugar", Ivory Thornton, Darnell Jackson, and Lexie Grant. David loved spending quality time with his family and making memories. David did everything from taking his grandkids fishing, attending games, birthday parties, and even allowing the girls to comb his hair and adding plenty of pretty bows and barrettes. Papa Dave allowed the grandkids to do whatever they wanted; He did anything to make sure his family was happy, safe and protected.
By profession, David was a Maintenance Supervisor/Maintenance Technician working for Maxx Properties, Volunteers of America and Francis Heights. Dave had many fond memories of all his co-workers, he never met anyone that was not a friend. He enjoyed shooting pool with his co-workers and kept in touch with his co-workers even when he no longer worked for the company.
David was a God fearing man and a man of faith. He was baptized at Lampton Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was a blessing to all that he encountered. Dave was a loyal Steelers fan, he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his baby girl; man's best friend (China Doll), watching TV, face timing with his niece Dana, whom he shared a special bond with and spoke to regularly up until the end, spending time with friends and family, and just having fun! He looked forward to daily calls from Prudence and his grandbabies, Erianna and Lexie. He also looked forward to spending time and having fun with longtime friends, Randy and Bob; as he really cherished their friendship. He will be greatly missed.
David was preceded in death by his father Arie Jones, brother Stephen Jones.
David Anthony Jones departed this life peacefully to the embrace of the Lord on February 22, 2020 in Denver, Colorado.
