David Fields

August 29, 1966 — July 25, 2013

David Lester Fields was born on August 29, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan to his parents, Lester Arthur Fields and Michaella Louise Elligan Fields. He was the first of two children born to this union. He was raised surrounded by his sister, Maisha. As a child, he was joyful and playful. He enjoyed wearing a tie, a badge and carrying a toy pistol. He would often imitate the police detectives in his favorite TV show which was "Hawaii Five-O." David received his early education in Aurora, Colorado. He started playing tennis when he was very young and continued to play in his adult life. He graduated from Gateway High School. A fond memory of high school, was that of David speaking on the national news as editor of his high school newspaper after the school was forced to cease use of the Olympic Symbol; which, incidentally just happen to be the same symbol utilized by the school. After graduation, David furthered his education by attending the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, Cal-Poly Pomona College in California and Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, Colorado where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts in Political Science & Economics. By profession, David was a Sales/Builder Developer at Rigid Building Systems. At the Red Lion Hotel, he worked as Food and Beverage Supervisor, as well as a Loan Officer for Acclaim Mortgage Company. Everywhere he was employed; he was hard working, dependable and carried strong work ethics. He was a man who would never ask those placed in his charge to perform a task he first, would not do himself. He was always a true team player, who led by example. David was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed his laptop surfing Facebook and other social media sites with his friends. He continued to love tennis and was a member of the Heatheridge Country Club Tennis Team for over three years. He was an avid listener of all types of music and he loved having debates and discussions with his friends and other sports radio personalities. His closest friends, Damon Dorsey, David Gallagher and Mike Zylla will miss the camaraderie they all shared together and the fact that he was a true and trusted friend. David will be remembered for his amazing memory, his passion for music, his humor & odd ball theories and his wonderful way of being able to diffuse negative situations. He had a smile and laughter that was illuminating and a charm that was inviting. He was the type of man, who never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind guy. To know David was to love him. David Lester Fields departed this life on July 25, 2013, in Glendale, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss, include his parents, Lester A. "Butch" Fields and Michaella L. Fields, both of Aurora, CO; his sister, Maisha L. Fields of Lakewood, CO; his uncles, Edgar (Brenda) Fields of Farmington, Michigan, Richard Elligan of Denver and Paul Elligan of San Diego, California; his aunts, Gwen Elligan of Sparta, Tennessee and Harriet Glenn of Denver; his cousins, Alan (Janice) Fields West Bloomfield, Michigan, Lori Nelson of Phoenix, Arizona, Carlton (Tina) Fields of Garden City, Michigan, Lennie (Denise) Elligan of Sparta, Tennessee and Hope Parker of Denver and a host of other relatives and many friends.
