Daryl Stacy Tucker was born on March 25, 1969 in Denver, Colorado to Martha and Theodor Tucker. He was the third child born to this union and was raised with his brothers, Darick and Douglas.
Growing up, his best childhood friends were, Steve Juniel and Bryan Roberson. Daryl matriculated through Denver Public Schools where he attended and later graduated from George Washington High School in 1987. During his high school career, Daryl was active in the marching, concert and jazz band. He was a drum major in the DPS Citywide Marching Band, and was also a proud member of the 49ers Drum and Bugle Corp.
Following high school, Daryl was awarded a music scholarship by Chaney University in Pennsylvania. He later transferred to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado.
He was blessed with the birth of his son, Daniel Mebane, and later gained two additional sons, Shawn Martinez and Anthony Maestas.
Daryl met his soulmate Janice Willison on his 30th birthday, and the couple were blessed with 23 years together. They enjoyed playing pool, going on picnic’s in the park, and watching football and basketball. It didn’t matter what they did together, they always enjoyed each other’s company.
Daryl was a hard worker, he took a position with Merrill Lynch as a Customer Service Account Representative, always representing with a spirit of excellence.
To know Daryl was to love him, he was always there to lend a cheer. He loved to read, especially books written by James Patterson and Stephen King. Daryl also took interest in watching documentaries and historical programs. On the weekends, He enjoyed doing yard work, where he could create designs in the lawn while mowing the grass and later found interest in growing a vegetable garden. He was frequently complemented by his neighbors for his amazing upkeep. In his free time, Daryl enjoyed playing dominoes, hanging out with his friend, Michael “Red” Aron and cooking, especially green chili. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed rooting for the Denver, Broncos. A recent highlight of his memory included watching Super Bowl 50.
He is preceded in death by his father, Theodor Tucker.
Daryl passed away on July 23, 2022. Those left to cherish his memory include his spouse, Janice Willison; his mother, Martha Tucker; his son, Daniel (RayAnne) Mebane; brothers, Darick (Valentyne) Tucker and Douglas (Andrea) Tucker; grandson, Kendrick; granddaughter, Zuri; step sons, Shawn Martinez and Anthony Maestas, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In honor of Daryl please wear Orange, Blue and White to his Celebration of Life.
