The sun rose on the life of Cynthia Veronica Givens on May 6, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was born to her parents, Edward Hall and Veronica Segue and was the 4th of 6 children born to this union. She was raised with her siblings, Joycelyn, Eronie, Janice, Errol, and George. Cynthia admired her relationship with her siblings and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she possibly could.

As a child, Cynthia loved to read book after book. Her first love was singing, and she would sing to her dolls as if she were in a concert. During her childhood, she was known around the neighborhood for not taking any mess and being able to fight.

Cynthia was educated through New Orleans Public Schools system and graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1972.

As a young adult, in 1975, Cynthia and her baby boy moved to Los Angeles, California for additional opportunities. While living in Los Angeles, Cynthia pursued an education in multiple areas of the Health Care Industry. She graduated from Sierra College of Business in 1985. Following the completion of her education, Cynthia pursued a career as a medical professional for over 40 years. During her career she was an extremely hard worker.

Cynthia was a devoted and loving mother of five wonderful children, Tais, William, Amar, Nadra and Arthur. Cynthia was a very determined individual that loved life. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved gathering with her children to cook her specialty Gumbo. Cynthia absolutely loved taking pictures of nature and of her family and friends as a hobby. During her spare time Cynthia loved playing with her many gadgets. She was the “Queen of Gadgets”.

Anytime Cynthia left her home for dinner, church, or special events, she was dressed to impress. She took pride in accessorizing her outfits, with jewelry, a scarf, and definitely a jazzy hat.

Cynthia was very caring and had a listening ear. She gave great advice and nurtured those that encircled her. Cynthia was a woman of great faith and was an active member of Life by Design Ministries in Aurora, Colorado. She joined the church under the leadership of Pastor Peter Taffe. Shortly after joining the church, Cynthia became a member of the choir and was known as their “Song Bird”. Cynthia especially enjoyed fellowship and worship with her church family.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Veronica Hall; her brother, George Griffin; and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Cynthia Veronica Givens was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 14, 2021 in Denver, Colorado.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Tais (Danette) Hall, William Curtis III, Amar (Toya) Rambo, Nadra Curtis and Arthur “Ray Ray” Givens; her grandchildren, Breanna Hall, Tatyana Hall, Delilah Taylor, Hezekiah Hall, Amariah Rambo, Jace Walker, and Amar Rambo Jr.; four great grandchildren; four siblings, Joycelyn Jones of Los Angeles, Eronie White of Texas, Janice Hall of Los Angeles, Errol Griffin of Los Angeles; a host of other relatives and friends.
