OBITTUARY
Coye Loyd
Coye Loy was born on May 16, 1964, in Denver, Colorado to his parents Josephine Arvella Loyd and Roceila Loyd. Coye was the cherished fourth child in his family, a role he embraced as the youngest sibling alongside his sister Alison Lynell Loyd and brothers Darian Lloyd and Tracy Leon Loyd. Coyd received his formal education in the Denver Public School System. His early days were filled with joy as he found delight in playing basketball, exploring outdoors, and fixing bicycles. As a young boy while playing in the county he was attacked by a swarm of bees causing him to lose his vision.
Coye's spirit remained undaunted by adversity. Despite his visual impairment, he found solace and purpose in the kitchen, where his passion for cooking blossomed. He was known for his zest for life and cherished spending time with family, especially creating lasting memories with his five beloved children: Ahmaud, Hasheem, Troy, LaWanda, and Sharday.
Apart from his family bonds, Coye valued friendship immensely. His days were often illuminated by the company of dear friends like Joseph Miles, Darian Sneed, Lawrence Wittaker, and Dale Samuels at Crest Theater. Coye's caring nature extended beyond his immediate family as he embraced the role of a devoted uncle and Papa to his niece and nephew.
In 2006, Coye found love with Magnolia Crowder in Denver. Their union brought together a blended family filled with love and respect. He became a treasured husband to Magnolia and a devoted stepfather to Tiesha, Damon, and Dana. The most precious gift of their marriage was the arrival of their granddaughter Tanaya'lynn whom Coye adored dearly.
As we bid farewell to Coye in this earthly realm, we carry forward fond memories of his laughter and kind-hearted nature. He is reunited in peace with his parents and siblings who have gone before him..
Coye Douglas Loyd departed this life on February 14, 2024 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, children, nephew, niece, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends .
