Comfort Menso

Mother Comfort Diamagueh Menso was born on May 11, 1963, in the Todee District of Liberia to her parents, Sunday G. Paye and Kaymah Sunday Paye. She was born in a large family with twelve brothers and seven sisters.

Growing up, she loved working alongside her parents on the family farm. She was also caretaker for her younger siblings. She often talked about how much she enjoyed swimming in the river in her village.

Comfort received her early education by graduating from the Tubman High School in Sinkor, Liberia. She furthered her education by attending Zion Community College in Congo Town, Liberia, earning an associate degree in Accounting.

In May of 1985, Comfort married, Simeon F. Menso. They first met when they both lived in Monrovia. She was a loving and devoted wife who stood by him and supported his efforts to complete his college education. The couple eventually relocated to the United States. To this union, seven children were born and raised; five sons, Boimah, Samuel, Andrew, Simon, Simeon; and two daughters, Simenah and Sylinah. She was a nurturing and caring mother who always put her children before herself. She wanted her children to have a better life than she did and every decision she made was to make that a reality. They worked hard to educate their children and they provided a safe home for numerous others throughout their union.

She was later blessed with six grandchildren, Suriyah, Sam Jr., Otis, Comfort, Simeon, Adria, and at the time of her passing, she was expecting another grandson. They remember her as being loving, kind, and she made the "best food ever." She made everyone feel special in her presence and always had snacks and treats for them.

By profession, Comfort was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She was one who did not just meet the standards, she exceeded them. She took great and excellent care of her patients. She worked well with her fellow co-workers and the management team. She was dependable and performed her duties with a spirit of passion and excellence.

A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Comfort was one of the founding members of Christ Vision Ministries International alongside her husband, Pastor Simeon Menso. She believed in the power of prayer and having the right relationship with the Lord. She was a faithful and dedicated member who didn't mind lending her helping hand for the upkeep of the church whether it was cooking, cleaning, decorating, whatever was needed for the upbuilding of God's House. She served her church as Church Mother. She was a strong prayer warrior who gave God all His glory for the many things in her life.

Comfort was a woman who loved to cook for family and friends. She didn't mind sharing her all her delicious creations with others and she absolutely loved watching others as they enjoyed her dishes. She was especially known for her famous potato salad.

Comfort will be remembered for her smile, her kindness, and her genuine love for others. She was loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and a friend. She was the glue and foundation to her family and because of her servant's heart, she has touched the lives of many people around the world. She will be truly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this strong, Christian woman. To know Comfort was to love her.

Mother Comfort D. Menso departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on June 1, 2019, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her loving and devoted husband, Pastor Simeon Menso; 5 sons, Boimah O. (Michelle) Kobbah, Samuel N. Paye, Andrew P. Menso, Simon F. Menso, and Simeon F. Menso; 2 daughters, Simenah M. (Ifiok) Udowana and Sylinah K. Menso (Paul Merab); her brothers and sisters, Othello (Gladys) Paye, Augustine (Musu) Paye, Albert (Susanne) Paye, Watson (Evelyn) Paye, Hawa Vonleh, Helena (James) Korvah, Laurel Gban, Abednego Broh, Gifty T. Paye, Ralph Paye, Loretta M. Paye, Mamie P. Paye, Jeremiah Paye, Sanuel Paye, Bondo Paye, Hawa P. Kollie, Richmond Paye, Watson Paye and Emmett Paye; 6 grandchildren, Sam Paye, Jr., Otis Paye, Comfort Paye, Suriyah Kobbah, Simeon Menso, and Adria Udowana (and her unborn grandson), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, many friends and church members.
