Clarice Elaine Anderson, passed faithfully away on February 5, 2018, Shortly after the birthdays of her two daughters (Odella and Charisse). She was a lifetime resident of Denver; however, born in McGregor, Texas to Glady Mae & Maurice Chappele. After the early death of her parents, her grandmother, Eula Kissam, relocated to Denver with her at the tender age of 5 years old, with her two sisters (Melba Grey & Barbara Follmer). She was the 2nd child born in her family. Clarice was known by all as Clarice, mom, grandma, & auntie. She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Clarence ‘Russell’ Anderson Sr. for 59 years. To this union, five children were born: Charisse Anderson-Nelson, Clarence ‘Russell’ Anderson Jr., Odella Anderson-Davis, Paul L. Anderson Sr., Cupendae Clarice Anderson (deceased), Later they adopted Patrick Charles, & Maria Ramos. She attended school in Denver & graduated from East High School & was a very compassionate person. Passionate about her family; adopted family; her friends, the community; & the world that we all live in. She loved life, and embodied love for all, as she cared for all; & she helped everyone. Which is why all young adults called her mom & auntie; and all kids called her grandma. Whether she was or was not their aunt or mother, or grandmother, she always made room for more. She always provided a space in her house for one in need. She exemplified care & love; & everyone felt that in her presence. If you needed an emotional “pick me up” she was the one to ‘go to’, because she always had the words to steer you in the right and, or smart direction, whether you chose to or not. Clarice was like a Rose that cultivated Love and by her cultivation, she made Love Grow! But, when you crossed her - you better watch out! She was passionate about getting her point across & would catch you off guard with various explicative(s) that you were not expecting at the time. When she loved she loved Deeply with a lifetime full of friends. When she walked into your life you couldn’t help keeping her beautiful spirit with you for an eternity. She was very stylish, & when she dressed she dressed to impress! She was flashy sassy with red lipstick, alluring fragrance, and bling sun glasses. Her professional life consisted of caring for others; she was the ultimate homemaker for most of her life, dedicating her life to her family and service to others. An amazing cook, decorator, entertainer, & hostess. Clarice had a way of bringing etiquette into a home. She took pride in preparing gourmet meals; & hosting lavish parties. If you were privileged to attend one of her parties no matter how long ago, it would be something you would never forget, and you could never stop reminiscing about it. Very strong in her faith, praying the rosary day & night multiple times a day. Always keeping a close relationship with the lord, her Spirituality & Christianity was phenomenal. She always told her children to go to church, pray & to trust in God. Additionally, to have faith as spoken from the book of Mark, to have faith, ‘faith of a mustard seed’ & ‘forgive as you will be forgiven also.’ Longstanding member of Cure D’Ars parish for 40+ years along with being an active member of ‘The Ladies of St. Peter Clavier’ if her health allowed, as well as several other ministries within the parish; along with other Women’s Organizations in the community.
