Christopher Young

Christopher Young was born April 2, 1971, in Denver, Colorado, to his parents, John H. Young, Sr. and Kathryn Young. He was the seventh of nine children born to this union. Christopher was raised surrounded by his six brothers, John H., Jr., Robert, Roy, David, Joseph, Steven, Travell, and one sister, Marilyn. His family and friends lovingly called him, "Chris." Even in his youth, Chris was a spiritual person and belonged to Bethlehem Baptist Church in Denver. As a teenager, he was on his way to becoming a deacon of the church. Chris attended school in the Denver Public School System. He became the proud father of Dellonta, early in his adulthood. They shared many memories together. In 1992, Chris married LaFreda Reedy and to this union, they were blessed with one daughter, Desire and he was blessed to add one stepson, Eric Reedy, to his family. The family was complete with all the love and support of one another. By profession, Chris worked in construction demolition and rehab. Chris loved listening to blues, being with his family, and friends. He enjoyed sports and was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He liked the outdoors and had dreams of traveling. He also had a great love for pets. "For those that really had the opportunity to get to know the true essence of Chris, you learned that he was a very emotional and compassionate human being." As a conscious effort, he tried to live life to its fullest and the best way he could. He was very wise and intelligent, and could relate and exchange with the best of them. Chris could be a hilarious Chris lived the life that was given to him and even though his life on earth was far too short, we know that he will be forever remembered by everyone that knew him. Chris was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Young, Sr., and baby brother, Travell Young. Christopher Young departed this life on July 18, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his wife, LaFreda Young; his two sons, Dellonta Chris Young, Eric Reedy; his daughter, Desire Young; his mother, Katherine Young, two grandchildren, Dellonta Chris Young, Jr.; Emonte Christian Young; 6 brothers, John Young, Jr., Robert Young, Roy Young, David Young, Joseph Young, Steve Young; one sister, Marilyn Young; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
