Christopher Swain

January 7, 1976 — September 24, 2015

Christopher Michael Swain was born on January 7, 1976, in Denver, Colorado to his parents, Pauletta Mosley and Tyrone Swain, Sr. Christopher had two brothers, Cameron Smith and Tyrone Swain, Jr. His family and friends would lovingly call him, "Chris." Chris attended Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Colorado where he graduated. He then continued his education at Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Florida and later, ITT Technical Institute in Denver, Colorado. He was currently enrolled at Ecotech Institute in Aurora, Colorado, where he was studying to be an engineer. Chris served a two-year term in the US Navy; he also served in the 3-157th Field Artillery in Iraq for the Army National Guard of the United States. Chris was honorably discharged. With guidance from his mother, Chris obtained a sense of God and family, during his childhood. He and his family attended Zion Baptist Church in Denver Colorado where he was baptized at the age of 8 by the late Reverend Wendell T. Liggins. His mother later moved there membership to New Covenant Church in Denver Colorado where they served under Pastor Reginald Holmes. As a child, Chris was very outgoing; he loved dancing, which was one of his many passions along with singing, doing impersonations, telling and playing practical jokes. He also loved playing football. He made several friendships on the Pirates PAL youth team that carried over into adulthood. Chris had a special bond with his brother, Cameron, whom, at an early age, preceded him in death. With the absence of his brother, Chris was compelled to a deeper sense of love which he shared with his brother, Tyrone, also becoming more of a big brother to his younger cousins, instilling the importance of family, love, laughter, and fun. Between college and the military, Chris fell in love with Essence Champagne Renee Smith creating a unique bond which led to their union of holy matrimony on February 23, 2001. They shared three beautiful children together, sons, Christopher Michael, Jr. "CJ", Caulen Joshua, and daughter, London Caylie Marie. Essence and her children loved Chris unconditionally, that love will carry on forever. The same jovial, loving, caring high spirited personality Chris had as a child, flowed into adulthood. He instilled in his sons wisdom and a sense of family love. Sharing the skill of pulling pranks, telling funny stories and corny jokes to singing a comedic song even the dancing continued, as he would battle in dance offs with his daughter London whom he affectionately called "Chicken Wing". Many family and friends have been "Punked" by what you can call "Chris-humor" leaving you laughing or stunned, sometimes both. If you truly were taken in as a friend of Chris, for him it meant you were family. Christopher Michael Swain had a welcoming spirit his embrace was love. His presence will be missed but his love, it will resound in you forever. Christopher was preceded in death by his father, Tyrone Swain, Sr. and his brother, Cameron Smith. Christopher Michael Swain ceased, on Thursday September 24, 2015, his family left to love on include, his wife, Essence Champagne Renee Swain; his sons, Christopher Michael "CJ" Swain, Jr., Caulen Joshua Swain; his daughter, London Caylie Marie; his mother, Pauletta Mosley, his brother, Tyrone (Danielle) Swain, Jr.; his grandmother, Anna Marie Swain; and his son, K.
