Chivon LeRae Bell was born on May 13, 1988 in Colorado Springs, CO and passed away on July 16, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Chivon was a loving mother, daughter, sister, sweet friend to many, and beloved by many people she helped in her career as a social worker.

Born May 13, 1988 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, to Deshawn Bell and Rachel Reeves-Bell, Chivon Bell grew up as an “Army Brat” alongside her two younger sisters, Chanice and Cherina Bell. Over the course of the next 14 years, the family traveled to Arizona, Hawaii, Northern Virginia, North Carolina, and Alaska. In later years, Chivon graduated from Overland High School in Aurora, CO, and completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2010 and 2012, respectively. Chivon began her career working for Arapahoe County as a social worker for four years. She then relocated to South Carolina and later Georgia, where she continued her work in social work focusing on at-risk youth. In 2019, Chivon chose a career change from the social work. Based on her connection to the military for having been an “Army Brat,” Chivon took a position with Lumos Marketing Group in Dallas, TX to help raise awareness and funds for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Chivon had a love for food and was a self-proclaimed “foodie.” She enjoyed listening to a variety of music, going to the movies, and had a passion for reading hopeless, romantic novels by Nicholas Sparks. More than anything, Chivon enjoyed spending quality time with her son, Cameron.

Chivon will be remembered for her unconditional, selfless love for her family and friends, a helping hand to many in a time of need, her devotion to God and his love for her, her humanitarian services to the Wounded Warrior Project, and her social work career. Chivon always desired to be the “big sister” to everyone she met.

Chivon will forever be remembered by her son Cameron Schultz (Ft. Worth, TX), her mother Rachel Reeves-Bell (Denver, CO), her father Deshawn Bell and Second mother Susan Bell (Honolulu, HI), sisters Chanice Bell (Orlando, FL), Cherina Bell (Denver, CO), Saretta Vaughan (Renton, WA), Briana McDaniel (Lake Stevens, WA), Sierra Muniz (Abilene, TX) and Brelynn McDaniel (Augusta, GA).

The family would like to thank family and friends who have provided the unconditional and unwavering, love and support during this time of grieving and remembrance of Chivon.

The funeral service will be held at Pipkin Braswell Funeral Home in Denver, CO on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.  For those that wish to donate in lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Chivon.
