PRECIOUS MEMORIES CHARLIE ELLIS There are no tears in Heaven, Nor grief of any kind; I leave this final teardrop to those I've left behind; Though absent from the body, I'm present with the Lord; The joy of my salvation, is now my full reward. Charlie Ellis was born on February 14, 1938 in Paris, Texas to the proud parents, Mack Ellis and Nancy (Wilson) Ellis. He was the second of two children of this union. When He was very young, the family relocated to Denver, Colorado. Charlie received his formal education in the Denver Public Schools, and graduated from Manual High School class of 1956. In 1958 Charlie met and married Barbara Black in Denver, Colorado. To this union, there were four beautiful children, Cynthia Burrell, Robert, Michael, and Sherri Ellis. He was also the proud father of Debra Hamilton. He was a nurturing and caring father whose pride and joy was caring for his family. By profession, Charlie worked as a Baker. He took great pride in his profession, he was hard working, dependable and performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. He retired after many years of faithful and dedicated service from Entenmann's / Oro Wheat Bakery. Charlie was a member of the Bakery, Confectionary and Tobacco International Union Local #026 for over 25 years. A man of faith and belief in the Lord., Charlie accepted the Lord as his personal Savior and was a faithful and dedicated member of New Covenant Church Alpha Omega Ministries under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Reginald C. Holmes. . Ha attended Church regularly until his health began to fail. Charlie was a fun loving man with a heart of Gold. He enjoyed life and those he encircled. .In his free time he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and plying cards. He was an avid Bronco fan and was a member of the Bronco Booters Club. Charlie loved the quality time shared with family and friends. His closest friends for many years were Bill Bryson, Jean Snoddy and Phil Johnson who will remember him as an awesome and amazing Dad, Grandpa and loving and caring friend. He is preceded in death by his daughter; Cynthia Burrell and two sons; Robert Ellis and Michael Ellis. His parents; Mack Ellis and Nancy Wilson Ellis ; brother; Robert Lee Edward. Charlie departed this life of Sunday, may 21, 2017 in Denver, Colorado "I Have Fought a Good Fight I Have finished My course I Have Kept The Faith" Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his daughters, Sherri A (Alexander) Ellis , Aurora, CO and Debra Hamilton, Denver, CO; (13) Grandchildren, Laticia (Chauncey) Rivers, Reggie Ellis, Deon Ellis, Corey Ellis, Alexis Johnson, Roberta Wells, Javon Carter, Shatona Carter, Jessica Bowers, Jacquline Bowers, Steven Burrell and Kellen Hamilton; (29) Great Grandchilden, (4) Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
