Charley James Ward, Jr. was born May 26, 1964, to his parents, Charley James Ward, Sr. and Gracie Mae Gilkey-Ward. He was the fourth child born in the family. Charley was raised surrounded by his brothers Ronnie, Lonnie, Calvin, and sisters, Diane, and Shanda. His siblings remember him loving to fish, play sports, and sharing his love by always taking care of his little sisters. Charley attended Denver Public Schools where he completed his secondary education at Manual High School in 1982. After high school, Charley found his niche of employment with hospitality and hospital services. He worked as a House Man for the Magnolia Hotel. Charley loved the Lord with his whole heart. That's how he developed his own personal relationship with God. He was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Denver Colorado. Charley met and later married, Tyra Boyd on February 14, 1989, from this union, two beautiful children were born, Charley, III, and Talisha. They enjoyed the time they shared together, and will cherish the memories. Later, Charley met Deborah McClain their love would grow and blossom into a loving relationship. Charley loved to explore nature and the outdoors, where he enjoyed camping, fishing and family fun. Charley met his lifelong companion, Deborah McClain. Together, Charley and Deborah took camping to a whole different level. They were committed to each other, love and family. Charley was blessed with one granddaughter, Aiyanna. She would provide an additional source of joy in his life. His contagious laugh will brighten anyone's day. He valued life, family and friends! You will never be forgotten. Charlie will be missed by many. Charley was preceded in death his father, Charley James Ward, Sr.; his grandfather, Melvin Gilkey; his grandmother, Grace Gilkey, and his niece, Deanna Coleman. Charley James Ward, Jr. departed this life June 15, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Charley Ward, III; his daughter, Talisha Ward both of Tampa, Florida; his mother, Gracie Gilkey, Dallas, Texas; one granddaughter, Aiyanna Jordan of Tampa, Florida; his love, Deborah McClain; his brothers, Ronnie Phillips, Lonnie (Denise) Phillips, Calvin Alexander, De'Anthony Ross, and sisters, Diane Coleman, Shanda (Albert) Lewis, Shameka (Jonathan) Howse, Sharmine Chapman, all of Colorado; three devoted friends, Tim Felder, Wade Owen, and Carlton McMillan. Charley had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
