Charles Douglas Hysaw Sr. was born January 28, 1939 in Luling, Texas to his parents Lewis Hysaw and Alzora French Hysaw. He was the fourth child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Vernon, Joe, McAurthor, Earl, James, and his sisters Virginia, Gail, Anniezell, and Maxine. He attended Roswell Highschool where he completed the 9th grade.
In 1953, at the age of 13 years old, he moved to Denver, Colorado with his brother Vernon. 5 years later in 1958 he met the love of his life Betty Lou Nichols and they later married on February 6, 1960, in Denver, Colorado. To this union Craig, Kenneth, Howard, and Charles Jr. were born.
Charles enjoyed watching sports including attending his sons' sporting events, he also enjoyed fishing, bar-b-quing, taking road trips, playing dominoes, spending time with family and having a good time. Anyone who knew him was immediately captivated by his insightful stories, witty humor, quick responses, and trash talk. He was no doubt a grill master.
As a profession, Charles was employed as a Millwright, at Lockeed Martin formerly known as Martin Marietta. While working at Lockeed he attended trade school. He retired after 42-years of service. He was member of a CB club, his handle name was “Rev. Dr. Goggle-eye” better known as “the body snatcher”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Alzora Hysaw; brothers James, Earl, McAurthur, Vernon; sisters; Virginia, Annabelle, Gail, and Maxine.
Charles Douglas Hysaw departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on December 24, 2020, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife Betty Hysaw; 4 sons, Howard (Diane) Nichols, Craig (Denise) Hysaw, Kenneth (Tish Johnson) Hysaw, and Charles (Sheila Kelly) Hysaw Jr; brother Joe (Gloria) Hysaw; 7 grandchildren, and 7+ great-grandchildren
