Evangelist Charlene McLin

April 2, 1954 — December 4, 2024

Evangelist Charlene Hill was born on April 2, 1954, in Denver, Colorado to her parents, David and Charlie Hill. She was raised with her sister, Patrice Hill. As a child, Charlene enjoyed helping in the kitchen. Her mother and aunt Ora taught her how to make many things from scratch. Charlene had a lot of energy in her young years. One of her fondest memories included making and throwing mud balls on the top of the porch. One day, she threw one and it unfortunately landed on her father as he was walking out of the house. From an early age, the importance of having a relationship with Christ was instilled in her. She often attended church with her mother and sister.

Charlene was educated through Denver Public Schools, where she attended and later graduated from Manuel High School in 1972. She later attended beauty school where she earned her certification in Cosmetology. She utilized these skills throughout her life.

Charlene looked forward to becoming a mother one day. Several years later, she was blessed with the birth of her children, Shellie Darnell Woods, Natasha Nicole Woods, David Dwayne Woods and Nathan Henry Woods.

Charlene worked many years with Aurora Public Schools where she was responsible for monitoring school campuses. She took this very seriously and wanted to ensure that students stayed safe while attending school. She enjoyed the students, gave them support in any way possible and even began the 1st group in the school district for troubled students.

Charlene was a woman driven by her profound faith in God. Everywhere she went, she radiated warmth and enthusiasm as she shared stories about her cherished children and her relationship with the Lord. She attended service at New Testament Church, and for those who do now know, was an ordained minister. Although she was kind, Charlene was known as a disciplinarian, she possessed the unique ability to uphold values and principles while maintaining a nurturing environment. Her sincere, humble nature made her a beloved figure within both her family and the wider community.

Charlene was a pillar of strength, admired for her hard work and honesty. She found joy in many facets of life, frequently expressing her love for Jesus, listening to music, dancing, and cheering for her beloved Denver Broncos. In her free time she enjoyed walking her dog and enjoyed the company of her close friends, Izora, Mary, Patrice and Janice.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Charlie Hill.

Charlene joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 4, 2024. Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, Shellie Darnell Woods, Natasha Nicole Woods, David Dwayne Woods, and Nathan Henry Woods; grandchildren, Treshown Darnell Joysiah Bowen, Jordan A. Woods, Jayden R. Woods, Malachi M. Woods, Sharmar A. Woods, Sean A. Woods, Brisean Woods, La’janic T.S. Triggs-Woods, Alazia D. Woods, David D.
