Cecil Raymond Robinson
January 10, 1938 - July 25, 2019
In Great Bend, Kansas on January 10, 1938, Cecil Raymond was born to his loving parents Archie Albert and Sarah Ann Gimblin Robinson. He was the fourth child of seven children born into this family. The Robinson's were a very close family that loved, shared, and protected each other.
Cecil received his primary and secondary education in Great Bend school system. In 1963, Cecil enlisted into the United States Army where he served until 1969. During his tenure Cecil received the Parachutist Badge, the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and the Combat Infantryman's Badge. He received an honorable discharge.
Service to God was also a priority for Cecil. He was an active member of Myers Chapel AME church in Great Bend. He served on the church finance committee. Cecil became a loyal member of the Masonic Lodge Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Kansas. Additionally he served at the American Legion Post 0273, in Wichita, Kansas.
Over his lifetime, Cecil was employed in various lines of work. He tried his hand in construction, working for Marlette Homes in Great Bend, KS. He lived in Chicago, Illinois were he drove a taxi and as a hobbies fought as a welter weight in a boxing league. He returned to Great Bend where he worked as lineman, utility repairman for Midwest Energy from November, 1985 to April, 2001. After retirement he moved to Wichita, KS, then to Texas City, TX for the past seven years and had just moved to Denver, CO in February 2019.
In the late 50's Cecil met and married Barbara Payne. To this union came five children, Cheryl, Sonja, Steven, David, Gregory. Unfortunately, the marriage ended in divorce. He later married Billie Perry and although no children were born this union, Cecil embraced Billie's children Carl, Chis, Tony, Lynda Kay and Stefan Perry adding to his family chain..
Cecil was a kind soft spoken man. He was a strong leader among his siblings and subsequent generations. He loved his family and was very encouraging and supportive in their dreams and pursues. Whenever he heard of any of their accomplishment he would enthusiastically say "Hot Dog, you did it". Cecil enjoyed being with family. He loved to go hunting, fishing, playing chess, dominos and traveling.

Left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Elizabeth Harding, Joyce A. Cherry both of Great Bend, KS, Katherine Craig, Lynwood, CA., Kathleen (Emmanuel) London, CA., and Al (Ann) Robinson, Great Bend, KS., his children; Cheryl (Stephen) McMoore, Applewood, MN Sonja Robinson, Minneapolis, MN, Steven Robinson, Minneapolis, MN, David Robinson, Fuji, Asia, Gregory Robinson, Minneapolis, MN; and Connie Moose, Great Bend, KS; his step children; Carl Perry, North Dakota, Chris Perry, Topeka, KS, Tony Perry Dallas, TX, Lynda Perry Newton, KS, Kay and Stephan Perry , both of Wichita, KS; a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and beloved friends
