Calvin W. Preheim was born December 8, 1945 to Waldo and Florence Preheim in Newton, Kansas. He was the youngest of four children. Cal left his earthly body on January 1, 2017 to join our Creator in Heaven. Calvin grew up on a farm near Moundridge, Kansas with his two brothers and sister. As the baby of the family, he could get away with about anything, and tried most of it. At 13 months old Calvin was diagnosed with polio which he was able to overcome with his families support. As a further barrier, he developed a bone abscess in his hip and was subject to penicillin shots every four hours for almost a year. Neither of these, nor countless other obstacles were able to slow down this happy gregarious child. As a child Calvin participated in several activities including 4h, FFA, sports and loved his flashy cars. A brilliant mind with quick wit and the Preheim sense of humor, he enjoyed his work as a limo driver. He told many people how much he loved driving and meeting new people as he could tell his same jokes every single day and nobody complained. Calvin enjoyed his family most of all and had many adventures with his daughter Gina, and grandson Cody. He was famous for his patience from the time Jeanie threw up in his car and all over his brand new suit, angel daughter spray painting her bedroom florescent orange and black, to his precious grandson crashing his car for the 8th time; Cal was always the calm after the storm. Calvin is survived by his daughter Gina, grandson Cody, step granddaughter Kiera, 2 brothers James and Kenneth, and his sister Judith. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial reception will be held in his honor Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm at his home in Lakewood, Colorado.
