Brenda Shanice James was born on May 3, 1993, in Thomasville, Georgia to her parents, Adrennia Cassandra Smith and Gregory James. She was the third child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her siblings, Demetrius E. A. Smith and Demetrial S. Smith. As a child, she was quiet but always willing to lend a helping hand when needed. She was very protective of her siblings, even though she was the younger of them. She received her formal education in Denver, Colorado where she graduated from George Washington High School. By profession, Brenda was currently in training with the Management Team of McDonalds at its East Evans location in Denver. She is remembered as being hard-working, dedicated and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. She also worked decorating cakes for birthdays and special occasions. She truly enjoyed working as a cake decorator and watching the expressions on the faces of her patrons as they saw the finished product for the first time. Brenda was a fun loving young lady, who loved life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed the special moments shared with her mother. They were best friends and the love between them was unconditional and unwavering. She continued to share a special bond with her siblings and other family members. Her favorite song was "Unbreak My Heart" by Toni Braxton. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Brenda was to love her. Brenda Shanice James departed this life on May 3, 2016, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her mother, Adrennia C. Smith of Aurora, CO; her father, Gregory James of Thomasville, GA; her brother, Demetrius E. A. Smith of Denver; her sister, Demetria S. Smith of Aurora; her step brothers and sisters, Victoria M. Lynch of Denver, Bryan Bryant, Devin Bryant, Devin Bryant and Kendrick Bryant all of Boston, GA; her grandparents, Brenda J. Smith and Reginald Canada both of Denver; her uncle, Maurice Thomas, Troy Thomas of Denver Lloyd Hudson of Thomasville, GA, Samuel Williams of Monticello, FL and Reginald Canada, Jr. of Aurora; great aunts and uncles Geraldine (Johnny) Thompson, Joann Smith, Dorthy (Mark) Parson and Dennis (Eddie Mae) Smith of Boston, Helen Hopkins, Jacksonville, FL, and Ethel Mae Grogan of Atlanta, GA; her niece, Da'reon, Diamond Smith and nephews, Da'ceon and Malachi Smith, all of Denver; all of her Godparents, Geraldine (Johnnie) Thompson and Carol (Stonie Jackson; best friend, Scotty Manning (they were always together), and a very special friend, Ernest Lee "Daddy Wossie" Bryant; and a host of cousins other relatives and many friends.
