Bonnie Jean Davis was born on August 25, 1953, in Omaha, Nebraska to her parents, Sidney Lee Davis and Georgia Mae Briscoe Davis. She was the fifth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Calvin, Ronald, Donnelle, and her sisters, Faye, Velma, Pearlene, Ethel and Margaret. As a child, she was mischievous and often got in trouble. Bonnie received her formal education in Omaha, where she attended Technical High School. She furthered her education by attending The College of St. Mary's also located in Omaha. She wed Alan R. Johnson in Omaha, NE. Their relationship was one of unconditional love. They later divorced but the bond between the two of them lasted until her passing. Bonnie was the proud mother of a beautiful baby girl, she named, Stephanie. She was a loving and devoted mother whose pride and joy was found in the care and nurture of her daughter. Stephanie remembers her mother as having a jovial personality and always the life of any party or event. They shared many happy and precious moments together. She was even later blessed with three grandchildren, Tyvonn, Talaysia, and Tyerra. They affectionately called her "G-Mom" and fondly remember her volunteering at their schools. She did so every day for a number of years. She was awarded Volunteer of the Year for 2012-2013, from the Florida Pitt Waller Elementary School. She was known by many in the school as the "Waller Dollar Lady and for keeping the children in line. She was a grandmother who truly loved her grandchildren and often traveled from Omaha to Denver to help her daughter with their care. By profession, Bonnie worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She was hard-working, dedicated and respected by the patients placed in her care and by her Supervisors. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Bonnie was a member of Paradise Baptist Church in Omaha, NE. She joined the church under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Thomas L. Smith, Sr. She truly loved the Lord and enjoyed the wisdom and knowledge she gained as she studied the Bible. Bonnie was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed Karaoke, and singing as if she were Whitney Houston. She also loved dancing. Her closest friends, were her daughter, Stephanie and her devoted companion, Alan. They will miss her smile and her joy of life. They will also miss her cooking, especially her chicken wings. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful lady. To know Bonnie was to love her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Georgia M. Davis; a brother, Ronald Davis and 3 sisters, Ethel Ann Swiney, Pearline Davis and Margaret Ann Kerchavel. Bonnie Jean Davis departed this life on February 18, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss, include her daughter, Stephanie A. (Greg) Jackson of Denver; her devoted companion, Alan R. Johnson of Omaha, NE; 2 brothers, Calvin E. Davis and Donnelle (Carolyn) Gallion; 2 sisters, Faye D. Douglas and Velma J. Jones all of Omaha, NE; 3 grandchildren, Tyvonn M. Johnson, Talaysia J. Jackson and Tyerra M. Jackson all of Denver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
