Blanchie Jacobs

September 28, 1944 — February 3, 2017

Blanchie Mae Jacobs was born on September 28, 1944, in Lula, Mississippi to her parents, Blanchie Clenentine Stone and James Stone. She was the second born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Will and Gregory and her sisters, Pearline and Barbara. Blanchie earned her high school diploma from Manassas High School in Memphis, Tennessee and an Associate's Degree from Pasadena City College. By profession, Blanchie wore many hats. During her marriage she and her husband owned two dry cleaners, a silk screening business and rented out properties they owned. Blanchie was a Phlebotomist, Certified ATM Repair Woman, she was an Author, Homemaker and Data Entry Specialist. When she moved to Colorado, she worked as Supervisor and Prayer Warrior for Marilyn Hickey Ministries in Greenwood Village, CO. Blanchie retired from Marilyn Hickey Ministries and moved to Bakersfield, CA where she worked at a food bank until her final move back to Colorado to help raise her granddaughters Leenah and Korine. Blanchie led a very active and interesting life. Starting with her time as a member of Isaac Hayes' high school Doo Wop band while she was in high school. She regularly volunteered in her community working the polls, working at convalescent homes in Pasadena, CA and homeless shelters on Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles. As a young woman she also marched on Washington. Blanchie was a woman of faith and regularly attended noon day prayer as a prayer partner at her church, Emmanuel Christian Center. She truly enjoyed the fellowship shared with her church family. Blanchie believed in the power of Prayer and that everyone should a relationship with the Lord. Blanchie spent most of her time with her children and grandchildren. She would frequently take her granddaughters, Leenah and Korine to Centennial Park, where the girls would play in the mini water park. She loved gardening and enjoyed shopping. Most of her shopping excursions were for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always surprising them with unexpected gifts. Blanchie was preceded in death by her mother Blanchie C. Stone, her father James Stone, her sister Pearline Johnson and her beloved son Paul S. Jacobs Blanchie M. Jacobs departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on February 3, 2017, in Aurora, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her brother Gregory Ingram of CA and sister Barbara Stone of Altadena, CA; 3 sons, Kantee W. Jacobs of Solodad, CA, Joseph N. Jacobs of Hanford, CA and Michael W. Jacobs of Aurora, CO; 4 daughters, Deba N. (Rodney) Fitiausi of Hanford, CA, Braporh K. Jacobs of Englewood, CO, Joaka N. Jacobs of Bakersfield, CA and April N. (Hamidou) Ouedraogo of Aurora, CO; 5 grandsons, David J. Jacobs of Denver, CO, Jonathan Jacobs of Bakersfield, CA, Christopher Jacobs of Bakersfield, CA, Anthony Jacobs of Bakersfield, CA and Marcus L. McElroy Jr of Englewood, CO; 3 granddaughters Morgan S. McElroy, Georgia Fitiausi, Korine K. Ouedraogo and Leenah Ouedraogo; and two great grandsons of Bakersfield, CA.
