Billy Charles Wrightsil was born March 25, 1947 in Denver, Colorado. He was the third of five sons born to Eddie and Ruth Wrightsil. He attended Mitchell and Horace Mann Elementary Schools and East High School. After graduating high school, he attended Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. After college, Billy moved to San Francisco, California for 10 years. He then returned to Denver where he began his career as a Service Desk Technician at the YMCA in downtown Denver. Because of his love for people this was the perfect job for him; he got to meet people from all walks of life, various cities and countries and he easily befriended most of them. He was always happiest when he was surrounded by friends and family. Billy was generous sometimes to a fault. Always lending money and inviting perfect strangers into his home to eat, play card games or watch sports. He never had children of his own, so all his friends and family’s children were adopted by him as their “Uncle Billy.” He spoiled them by showering them with gifts and money and taking them shopping for clothes, toys and whatever food they wanted to eat. He was the first to volunteer to babysit when any of his friends were in need. Billy took great pride in his appearance, always making sure his hair and beard were neatly cut and trimmed, wearing immaculate suits, hats, shoes and the best smelling colognes. He loved to travel to various cities to hang out with friends or acquaintances he’d met at his job or through other friends. He could be ‘bossy’. He loved telling people what to do. And as a child would always snitch on his brothers, to his mother, getting them in trouble when he saw them doing anything he didn’t like. After retiring from the YMCA, after 18 years of service behind the membership desk, Billy went to work for Frontier Airlines as a Reservationist. By this time, he was no longer interested in travelling and was generously allowing his friends and family to use his airline privileges. Billy actually lived a very simple fun-loving life. He was most content being at home enjoying the company of anyone who happened to come by or just hanging out with friends and family at parties listening to music and dancing or going to other events. He will always be known for his stylishness, kindness, generosity and fun-loving spirit. Billy was preceded in death by his loving father, Eddie Wrightsil, Sr. and 2 brothers, Eddie Wrightsil, Jr. and Howard Wrightsil. Billy Charles Wrightsil departed this life on August 22, 2018 in Denver, Colorado. He leaves to cherish his memories his phenomenal God fearing mother, Ruth Wrightsil; brothers, Freddie Wrightsil (Sterling, Co); Larry Wrightsil (Denver), Sebonn Davis-Wrightsil (a niece he truly loved and adored) god sister, Mosezella White (whom he shared a home with for a while) and her daughter, Tiara Scott (whom he also adored and spoiled rotten) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
