Beverly Ann Price was born on December 3, 1936, in Wichita, Kansas to her parents, Harry Henderson and Nettie Theresa Bright Henderson. She was the fourth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, William, Johnny, Kenneth, Martin, and her sisters, Dorothy, Vivian, Faye, Rose, Shavanna, and Barval. She completed her formal education by attending West High School. In those early days, she enjoyed playing softball and she was a Lifeguard at Curtis Park Recreation from age 13-16. Beverly united in holy matrimony to William Walter Jay, Sr. in Denver, Colorado. To this union, Mary, William, Beverly, Vivian, Ricky, Martin, and Ramsey were born. She later married Johnny Price and to this union, a daughter, Johnnie was born. The family shared many happy and precious moments together. She was later blessed with thirty three grandchildren; eighty great grandchildren and twenty three great-great grandchildren who all were an additional source of joy and pride in her life. By profession, Beverly was employed as a Surgical Technician at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver, Colorado. She was hard-working, dedicated and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. She has also worked for Presbyterian/St Luke Hospital for fifteen years and for the Samsonite Company for over six years. A woman who believed in the power of prayer, Beverly joined Heritage Christian Center in 1996. She served faithfully until her health began to decline. Beverly was a fun loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed singing, dancing, and spending quality time with family and friends. She was a campaign worker for President Barack Obama in 2007. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Beverly was to love her. Beverly Ann Price departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on March 4, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include 4 sons, William W. (Elizabeth) Jay, Jr. of Topeka, Kansas, Ricky M. (Shonna) Jay of Aurora, Martin H. (Lynn) Jay, and Ramsey E. (Rochelle) Jay all of Denver; 4 daughters, Mary E. Jay of Aurora, Beverly Ann Jay of Denver, Vivian M. (Daney) Cloud, and Johnnie A. Price all of Aurora; 1 brother, Martin D. Henderson of Denver; 2 sisters, Rose J. Humphrey and Faye Etta Henderson both of Aurora; 33 grandchildren; 80 great grandchildren; 23 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and many friends.
