Beverly Mae Marasco was born on January 17, 1934, in Des Moines, Iowa, to her parents, Thomas Dwight Anderson and Helen Anderson. Beverly was the second of three daughters born in the family and was raised surrounded by her sisters. She was lovingly called, “Bev” by family and friends and was called that name for the rest of her life. Beverly received her formal education and graduated from high school in the Des Moines Public School District. Beverly was the proud mother of one son, Phil Gilbert, Jr. He brought great joy to her life. In 1953, Beverly married Arthur Marasco. The two were inseparable and shared many memories together. Beverly relocated from Des Moines, Iowa to Denver, Colorado in 1956. She worked at Ritz Café and the K.C. Lounge as a waitress. During the 1960’s, while looking for a better opportunity, Bev started working for the City and County of Denver, Model City Program, as a clerical worker. She later transferred to the Department of Public Works, Waste Water Management Division as a Copy Center Operator. She was hard working, dedicate, and performed her duties with a spirit of excellence. Beverly retired from the City and County of Denver and continued to maintain friends with many of her co-workers. In April 1975, Beverly joined Mountain Temple No. 174 of the IBPOE of W. She was a very active member and maintained numerous positions. She was a Past Granddaughter Ruler, she belonged to the Past Grand Club of Colorado, Heart of The Rockies Council, The Bessie Brown Shrine Fez Club, The Rocky Mountain Rangers Company, and Antler Guard Department. She was a hardworker and found great joy attending the Middle Western State Association Auxiliary Daughter of Elks and the Grand Conventions. Beverly was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 29, since 1998, and once held the office of Sargent at Arms for the American Legion. She was also very active with the membership and fundraising committees. Anyone who knew Bev, knew that her babies came first. She truly loved her dogs, they were her passion and an additional source of joy in her life. Beverly was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. She will be missed by her family and friends. Her funny jokes and expressions were priceless and will be remembered forever. Beverly is preceded her in death by husband, Arthur Marasco, and son, Phil Gilbert, Jr. Beverly Mae Marasco departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on July 24, 2017, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include two sisters, Gloria Miller and Carol Rose; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
