Betti Coleman was born on December 22, 1928, in Nuremberg, Germany to Johann Haunfelder and Marie Huber Haunfelder. She was the second child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Ernest, Gunter and her sisters, Kathie, Erika, Johanna and Rosi. While growing up, she was hard working and didn't mind helping her family. She was a survivor of World War II. She received her early education in Germany where she graduated from high school. In 1968, she united in holy matrimony to Henry Coleman in New Jersey. They relocated to Denver, Colorado in 1971. There were no children born to this union and Henry preceded her in death. She was the proud mother of a son born in Germany that was given the named him John Haunfelder. Betti was employed by Goldberg Brother, Inc. She is remembered as being hard working, dedicated and worked well with her fellow co-workers. A woman of faith and belief in the Lord, Betti has been a faithful and dedicated member of Cure d'Ars Catholic Church in Denver. She has been a member for over ten years. Betti was a fun loving woman who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting the "Hills", traveling to places both foreign and domestic. She truly enjoyed the spending quality time with family and friends on special occasions. Her closest friend, Janielle Johnson will miss the camaraderie they shared together and the fact that she was a true and trusted friend. She will be missed by all who have known this kind and wonderful woman who enjoyed helping others and was a person who never met a stranger. To know Betti was to love. Betti Coleman departed this life on January 14, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish her memory and mourn her loss include her sister, Johanna Clayton of Denver; her niece, Monica Clayton-Harvey; 2 great nieces; 1 great-great nephew; and 1 great-great niece, 1 great-great great niece; and a host of other relatives and many friends. Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one's gone; those we love can never be more than a thought apart; for as long as there is memory, they'll live on in the heart.
