Arkansas to his parents, Jessie Clark and Betty Lee Dixon Clark. He was the first child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brothers, Alphonso, Churby, Arthur, Robert and his sisters, Earlene, Mary Ann, and Bobbie Jean. Growing up, Bennie enjoyed skating, going to the movies, riding bikes and playing word games with his siblings. He also enjoyed playing the organ, playing pinochle with his dad and doing shoe repair. Bennie graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1951. He graduated at the top of his class always maintaining an A average. He was known to be quite competitive while in school. On October 5, 1952, Bennie united in holy matrimony to the former Earline Broadie. She fondly remembers him being a charming sweet talker, who followed her from church. They exchanged vows at the Justice of Peace in Hernando, Mississippi. To this union, two children, Jerome and Pamela Ann were born. He was also the father of Kimberly Ann and Tony. They remember their father as a vegetarian and would be willing to take some of the neighborhood children with them on family outings and would often pay their way. They also remember him taking them to many firsts such as skating, bike riding, swimming, riding the roller coaster, painting just to name a few. He was truly a loving and devoted father. He was later blessed with his grandchildren, who were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. He took them gaming, for long walks around the park and encouraged them to make healthy choices when it came to eating. He would often say, "Don't eat that junk." By profession, Bennie was a Real Estate Broker, a Painter, and a Salesman of various products. He was an entrepreneur with a strong work ethic. He was respected by his clients for his honesty, his caring personality and his strong business acumen. He won an award and was placed in the Million Dollar Club with Century 21 Real-estate. He also won an award at the 9th Annual Memphis CB Jamboree. He was also a member of the masons. Bennie was a fun loving man, who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed playing Chess, and won a number of awards playing, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, his most favored puzzle was cryptograms. He also played many board games and loved playing pool. His closest friends at the Hiawatha Davis Rec Center, Carroll Jones, and Bill Mason who preceded him death, shared many happy and memorable moments together. He didn't mind lending a helping hand to others, especially helping the elderly by taking them to personal appointments or to the store and other errands. He rededicated his life to the Lord December 27, 2014. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind guy, who leaves a void that can never be filled. To know Bennie was to love him. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 Bennie Willie Clark departed this life on August 3, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include his wife, Earline Clark; his son, Jerome (Rita) Clark; 2 daughters, Pamela A. (George) Blair all of Denver, and Kimberly A. (Marcus) Farmer of Northglenn; 1 brother, Pastor Robert E. (Barbara) Clark of Aurora; 2 sisters, Earlene (George) Hailey and Mary A. Turner all of Denver; 8 grandchildren; Khary Clark, Jamila Clark, Japera Clark, Khiante Clark, Celeste Blair, Simone Blair, Kennah Searles, Marcus Farmer Jr. 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
