Benjamin F. Cox, Sr. was born on October 30, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York to his parents, William Cox and Beatrice Edwards Cox. He received his early education in New York where he graduated from high school.
On April 5, 1955, Benjamin enlisted in the United States Army. While serving his country, he was awarded a Parachutist Badge and a National Defense Service Medal. He served with honor and distinction and was honorably discharged.
Benjamin was the proud father of four beautiful children, Benjamin, Jr., Celestine, Diane, and Linda. He was later blessed with sixteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren who all were an additional source of joy and pride in his life. They shared many happy and memorable moments together.
By profession, Benjamin was a Furniture Designer. He was extremely talented and much of his work was featured in many homes in the area. He was hardworking, dedicated, and performed his duties with meticulous detail.
Benjamin was a fun-loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful man. To know Benjamin was to love him.
Benjamin F. Cox, Sr. departed this life on June 24, 2019, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss include 1 son, Benjamin F. Cox, Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 daughters, Diane L. Cox of Denver, Colorado and Linda Cox of Brooklyn, New York; 1 brother Edward Cox of North Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
