Arthur Robinson

January 12, 1934 — June 20, 2019

Arthur Bell Robinson was born Janurary 12, 1934, in Haynesville Alabama, to Isaiah and Corene Robinson, both deceased. He was the first born blessed into this great union. His siblings Cora and Gussie remember their brother's strength and great guidance; which made him a hero as their older brother. Cora remembers and finds great consolation, when she reflects on their childhood; remembering how Arthur would put her in a wagon and pull her so fast that she would fall out and he would just laugh and say, "Fall out baby, Fall out!"

Arthur was reared in, Alabama and attended the Montgomery school system, where he was an outstanding student at George Washington Calver High School. Later after the family moved to Denver, Colorado, his first son was born Gregory Wayne. Shortly after, Arthur met Heulette C. Ford and to this union four children were born, Jacquelyn, Jeanine, Jennifer, and Arthur. After this marriage was dissolved, Arthur met his lifetime companion Linda Harrison. Arthur was a great father and was blessed with many beautiful grandchildren; Tishia, Rae, Keena, Arthur, Dominique, Keith, Keyana, Ashanti, Kameron, Ronnie, Joseph, Greg Jr. and Deja.

Arthur was a career soldier in the United States Marine Corps, where he was honored with the National Defense Medal and the United Nations Medal. After many years of service to his country, Arthur went on to become a postal worker for the United States Postal Service. He also specialized in many other areas such as, Air Traffic Controller and Federal Aviation Specialist.

As a "Man of Faith" Arthur was a member of Zion Baptist Church, where he found his love for God flourished and grew. In his leisure time he enjoyed gambling, golfing, and traveling. His best friends Charles Roberts, Jimmie Henderson, and Clay Hollister remember him always bragging about winning before they got to the tracks but they also remember how quiet he would be, when they would leave. This might have been Arthur's way of keeping them from knowing if he won or not.... who knows but Arthur?

Arthur will be best remembered for his giant character, always thinking he knew everything. His love for family, running many gambling shacks, around Denver and his love for poetry; Maya Angelou's "Still I Rise" being his favorite.

Arthur Bell Robinson passed away peacefully in his Denver home surrounded by family and friends. He leaves to cherish his memory and live out his legacy, his companion for many years Linda Kay Harrison, his wonderful children, Gregory Wayne, Jackie O'Neal, Jeanine Robinson, Jennifer Toussaint, Arthur J. Robinson, Tina Roquemore. His loving sister Gussie Robinson. Thirteen grandchildren, Twenty great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces and friends.
