Arthur Clark

March 1, 1941 — January 24, 2016

In the Beginning Arthur Gene Clark was born on March 1, 1941 in Earle, Arkansas to his parents, Jessie and Bettie Clark. He was the fourth child born in the family of eight children. He also had a twin sister, Bobbie Jean. He was raised in Memphis, Tennessee with his brothers, Bennie, Robert, Alphonso, and Churby; and his sisters, Earlene, Mary, and twin sister Bobbie Jean. As A Child Arthur was a very playful child. He enjoyed playing cowboys and Indians with his friends and climbing trees. Once, he fell out of a tree and broke his collarbone. He also enjoyed playing baseball, skating and riding his bicycle. Education Arthur attended Larose Elementary School and Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis, TN. He moved with his family to Denver, Colorado in 1959. Marriage and Family Arthur was the proud father of four loving children: Vernon, Toyia, Veda and Dion. He moved to Los Angeles, California where he met Lynette Cavitte. He settled down in Los Angeles and married his "Angel of Love" in 1997. They shared precious memories together. Arthur was also blessed with many grandchildren; they brought an additional source of joy to his life. Career By profession, Arthur managed the Rite Aid Pharmacy, and after 30 years, he retired. His co-workers found him dedicated, committed and very trustworthy. Church….. Since 1997, Arthur was a devoted member of Bethel Chapel Community Church, under the pastorate of Dr. James E. Satterfield. He was one of their "Men of Faith." He served on the Usher Board, sang in the Choir, and was a faithful assistant to his pastor along with his dear friend, Pastor Ron Smith. We will never forget! Arthur was a tall and handsome man. He was a kind, loving and generous person who would give you the shirt off his back if you asked him for it. He was the favorite brother, the favorite uncle, and a wonderful friend. He was always laughing, telling jokes; his smile and presence would light up a room. Arthur will be missed by all who knew him. Arthur is preceded in death by his wife, Lynette Clark; his parents, Jessie and Bettie Clark; his twin sister, Bobbie Jean Washington; and brothers, Alphonso Clark and Churby Clark. Arthur Gene Clark departed this life on January 24, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Vernon McClinton of Aurora, Dion Cavitte of Las Angeles, CA; his daughters, Dr. Veda Simmons of St. Louis, MO, Toyia Morris of Aurora; brothers, Bennie (Earline) Clark of Denver, Robert (Dr. Barbara) Clark of Aurora; sisters, Earlene (George) Hailey of Denver, Mary A. Turner of Denver; his sister-in-law, Dorothy Cavitte of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
