Precious Memories
Anne Bell Warner Coleman
Those we love remain with us, for love itself lives on,
and cherished memories never fade because a loved one’s
gone; those we love can never be more than a thought apart;
for as long as there is memory, they’ll live on in the heart.
Anne Bell Warner Coleman was born on February 16, 1934, in Faunsdale, Alabama to her parents. Peter Warner, Sr. and Lizzie Ruffin Warner. She was the ninth child born in the family. She was raised surrounded by her brothers, Peter, Jr., Leon, Frank, Abron, Robert, James, and her sisters, Rebecca, Mary, and Carrie. She received her early education by attending Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama.
Anne married, Jerome Coleman in Las Vegas, Nevada. They first met in Los Angeles, California. They enjoyed a lot of cross country traveling. She was the proud mother of a son, she named Thomas C. Wells, II. She was a loving and devoted mother, who took great pride in the care and nurture of her son. Thomas remembers his mother singing, walking for exercise, usually 3 miles a day. She loved reading and traveling. She carried herself as though, she had a million dollars in her purse with a master’s degree of intellect. They shared many happy and precious moments together. Jerome preceded her in death.
Anne was later blessed with three grandchildren, LaKeysia, Domonique, and Dimitrius. They lovingly called her “Granny Goose”. Dimitrius fondly remembers spending the night with her and being paid to remember the parts of the Bible, and she giving him money while in college. Domonique remembers spending the night and watching how excited she would get about cooking breakfast and going to the grocery store. She also remembers how her grandmother would attend her basketball games. LaKeysia remembers spending the night and eating blue berry pancakes and being tricked by her grandmother to eat tomatoes as she called them apples. They also enjoyed going to McDonalds to play and eating at Olive Garden. Anne was also blessed with two great grandchildren, Santana and Jordan.
By profession, Anne was employed as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Newark Public School District in Delaware. She truly enjoyed working with Autistic Children. She performed her duties with a spirit of excellence.
Anne was a fun-loving lady, who enjoyed life and those she encircled. In her free time, she enjoyed the special moments shared with family and friends. Her closest friends, Eliza J. Farrow, and Margaret Wright, who both preceded her in death, shared many comraderies over the years. She will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this kind and wonderful woman. To know Anne was to love her.
