Anna B. Mosby was born on January 15, 1925 to her father Isaac Mosby and mother Gladys Lindsey in Forrest City, Arkansas. She was the oldest of six children, loved and raised by her mother and grandparents with her two brothers and two sisters Lory, Henry, Darnell and Katherine. As a family they grew up during the depression years, with lack of resources, Anna became creative and developed many skills and talents including canning, sewing and cooking. With these skills later became a short order cook in Clarendon, Arkansas. On May 31, 1952 Anna was married to George Pettigrew in Helena, Arkansas. From her previous marriage, Anna had five children. From George's previous marriage, he came with seven. With their union they had seven additional children, bringing the total to nineteen. George preceded her in death on January 1, 1963. Anna later moved from Arkansas to Champaign, Illinois in June of 1972 with all her children and worked as a laundry helper for Mercy Hospital and Shelter Laundry. On August 4, 1986 Anna moved for the final time from Illinois to Denver, Colorado where she became a member of Fisher of Men Fellowship Church and a servant of the Lord. She became mother of the church and served over twenty years, Anna also did volunteer work at the Rose of Sharon food bank for over twenty five years. Anna was a beautiful, loving, spiritual mother, grandmother and great grandmother full of wisdom whom everyone loved, and cherished. Anna is preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; her daughter, Mary; her parents, Isaac and Gladys; her sister, Katherine; her two brothers, Lory and Henry; her stepsons, Charlie, Richard, Lee, George Jr. and Oscar; and two stepdaughters, Beulah and Velma-Lee. Anna M. Mosby Pettigrew departed this life on November 23, 2016, in Denver, Colorado. Anna is survived by her children: Idella Houston, Deacon Eddie Miller, Gladys Campbell, Timothy Pettigrew, Missionary Gloria Stevenson, Nancy Pettigrew, Lucille Roach, John Pettigrew, LC Pettigrew and Andrew Pettigrew; her 21 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, 28 great-great grandchildren, 43 step grandchildren, 105 step great-grandchildren, 127 great-great step grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren. Anna loved ALL her children and served them throughout her life; it was her faith in God that helped carry her through.
