Anita Mae Smith, 78 of Denver, CO passed away peacefully on April 17, 2021. She was born on May 31, 1942 in Denver, CO to her parents Margarita Lucero and Octavian Deleon. She lived her entire life in Colorado and loved the Park Hill community. Anna Mae received her associates degree from Red Rocks Community College. She worked for DGH for 32 years, towards conclusion of her career she was in charge of the entire Mental Health Billing Department. She would later retire in 2006. She received many accolades from the City of Denver, but she was most proud of the Mayor’s achievement award presented by Mayor Webb. She was a dedicated member of the Bond of Love Christian Fellowship.

Anita came from humble beginnings, where she lived in an abandoned car in a junkyard, she was taken in by her best friend Rosalie Perez. Which led her on a path to being a great woman of GOD. She accomplished many things to start the foundation of our family. She was our “ROCK”, not only for our family but for countless others. Many sought guidance and prayers and she never turned anyone away. In the end, she prospered and was blessed heavily by the Lord. She gave him the praise and glory and told everyone she talked to that all she has is because of GOD and she wanted everyone to look to the Lord.

She is survived by her children; Cue Lee Deleon, Joseph P Deleon, Regina A Deleon and Alan A. Smith. Followed by her grandchildren; Felicia Deleon, Jennifer Thompson, Dominique Deleon, Jesse Simpson Jr., Ana Mae Deleon, Lee Deleon, Leteisha Deleon, Tasharee, Lucrezia, Leshemia, Jeffrey, Asher, Dakota, and Olivia Deleon, Jasmine Smith, Jeremy Jackson, Travis Lee Deleon, Davon Haralson, Danielle Deleon, Joseph Deleon Jr; 31 great grandchildren, many cousins and friends.
