Andrew Daniel Young was born on May 9, 1937, in Washington, Arkansas to the union of Ed Young and Lillian Scott. He was the youngest of 11 children. At an early age, Andrew accepted Christ as his personal savior at the Mars Hill Baptist Church in Washington, Arkansas. In 1955, Andrew graduated from Lincoln High School in Arkansas, and moved to Kansas City, Kansas where he joined the United States Air Force. He was stationed in several cities, and the territory of Puerto Rico. Before retiring from the Air Force in 1979, Andrew achieved the rank of Master Sergeant, and completed his career in the Air Force as an instructor. Later, he became a civil servant working at the United States Post Office, where he retired after 18 years. In May 1959, Andrew married Evonne Staggers of Mc Nab, Arkansas. They celebrated their love continually. To this union, four children were born, Yolanda, Anita, Antonia, and Anthony. The family moved to Colorado. They became faithful members of the Mount Moriah Baptist church under the leadership of Pastor Barcus Adams. Andrew was later blessed with five grandchildren, who lovingly called their grandfather, "Poppy." Andrew loved to travel, fix up and sell old cars. He loved to visit family to ensure that his children knew who they were related to. When they would travel, even if they were passing through, he would make it a point to call and stop by family members homes. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings Perry, Rufus, Robert, I.C., William, Ed, James, Alvin, Nealie Bell, George, and Sister Baby. Andrew Daniel Young departed this life on the night of August 4, 2016, in Aurora, Colorado.
