Alyson Renee Norman was born May 7, 1973, in Shreveport, Louisiana to her parents, Ned N. Norman, Sr. and Mary L. Young Norman. She was the baby of three children. She was raised with her two brothers, Reginald, and Ned "Nelson". Her brothers remember her being a tomboy and a "Daddy's Girl." They would lovingly nicknamed her, "Alley Cat." Alyson loved her father so much she would call him her dad, "Buddy", and friend. At the age of 5, Alyson wanted to be like her father so much, she asked him if she could chew his tobacco, he let her try some thinking she would taste it, swallow the spit, get sick and not like it; to his surprise, she could spit and chew as he did, and wanted more. Her mother was not pleased with either of them. She received her formal education in Louisiana beginning with elementary school at Jack P. Timmons, Turner Junior High, and graduating from Huntington High School in 1991. Alyson continued her education at Grambling State University where she studied nursing. She also attended Cosmetology School where she received her cosmetology license. Now she was free to pursue her dream in making people look-good. Alyson worked in various salons. Her customers would say loved to make sure that her work was to perfection. Alyson was the proud mother of four wonderful children, Ashton "Dre", Keshonna "Sis", Daisy "Boots", and Raquel. Alyson knew that names were important, even to the point of naming Daisy after the flower, because she saw how beautiful the flower. She had a knack for creating nicknames for those she loved; she loved her children so much, Alyson gave each of them a nickname to express that love. Ashton remembers her being his partner in crime, always concerned for him, and being a loving mother that he could always talk to. Her daughters recall "Dress Up Girls Day", dressing up, doing hair, and make up. Alyson loved spending time with her children; they will remember her as a trustworthy mother who has always had their back. Alyson was a loving, caring and giving person who will truly be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. To know Alyson was to lover her. Alyson was preceded in death by her mother, Mary L. Norman. Alyson Renee Norman departed this life to the embrace of the Lord on October 27, 2015, in Denver, Colorado.
