Albert Bryant

May 19, 1927 — October 8, 2016

Albert Joseph Bryant was born in Denver Colorado, May 19, 1927 to Sidney Bryant, and Florence Hayden Bryant. Albert was the middle child of 8 siblings. He is preceded by the passing of Volleny Bryant Sr., Sidney Bryant, Marcellus Bryant, John Bryant, Hildred Bryant, Florence Bryant Freeman, David Bryant, and Andrew Bryant. Albert was a doer, not much of a talker. His actions were exemplified in excelling in ROTC, becoming a champion wrestler at East High School, then forming his own construction company. A.J. was the next generation of Bryant legacy makers, carrying on the work of his father Sidney in construction. The name A. Bryant can be seen on landmarks all over Denver. His signature emblem is proudly shown on sidewalks and landmarks in the Historic Denver area. He used his business as an opportunity for family employment, innovation, and entrepreneurship, that will be remembered in the family. One of the buildings he helped construct was St. Joseph Hospital, where he would succumb to in his final days. He had no official records of a wife or children, so the Bryant name will be carried out through the 20 nieces and nephews he left behind to carry the Bryant Legacy. Albert Joseph Bryant is remembered through his nieces and nephews Ardith Bryant Southern, Volleny Bryant Jr., Violet Bryant Conyers, Linda Bryant Lee, Ruth Bryant White, Marcellus Bryant Jr., Marye, Bryant White, Mikelle (Angie) Bryant Mataya, Dwayne Bryant, Marcellus Bryant, David Bryant, Timothy Bryant, Sidney Dawson, Larry Daniel, Joann Daniel-Dyer, Cherri Lynne Freeman Bell, Alfred Freeman , Donna Freeman Coburn, Danny Joe Freeman. This is just the tip of the iceberg, because there are countless Grand and Great Grand Nieces and Nephews. The New Climax Lounge at 2217 Welton St. is where he spent his remaining days & is one of Denver's last historic sites in the Five Points area. He owned & operated the business for 40+ years, & with his passing, his wishes to keep the landmark establishment in the family were handed down to the Next Bryant Generation. Albert Joseph Bryant had an amazing showing of his heart and love for family when The Bryant's had their most recent Family Reunion. He gave the young ones a look into his life so they would have something to be proud of and remember.
