Michael Steven Nolan was born on November 20, 1956, in Bronx, New York to his parents, William Nolan, Sr. and Ella Mae Jackson Nolan. He was the fourth of six boys born in the family. His brother's names are Robert, William, George and twins, Mark and Zane. As a child, he enjoyed playing with his train sets and car racing sets. Michael received his formal education in Bronx, New York, where he attended the Evander Childs High School. He furthered his education by attending the Morrisville College in Morrisville, New York, earning an Associate's Degree. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Syracuse University. By profession, Michael was employed as a Cameraman and Technical Director for Channel 4 News in Denver, Colorado, which is a CBS affiliate station. He has also worked for the NBC and ABC Broadcasting Stations. Wherever employed, Michael was a man who performed his duties with a spirit of excellence. He worked well with his staff members and his supervisors. He retired after 33 years of faithful and dedicated service. Michael was passionate about Khufu Karate for a number of years. He loved the disciplines taught and the physical and mental training, he gained with the activity. He often shared his knowledge and experience with others. He is also remembered as a World Traveler and Photographer. He enjoyed the many ports of interest both foreign and domestic he had seen over the years. He received a number of awards for excellence in photography. Michael was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling, visiting places by way of the train, cooking, fine tuning his karate skills and on his days off, he drove the Train Trolley. He loved amusements parks and spending quality time socializing. His closest friends, Elliot & Wanza Mcquay, Curtis Houston and Ted & Tony Tyler will miss the comraderies they all shared together and the fact that he was true and trusted friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known this kind and wonderful man who loved hosting barbeques and had a smile that would light any room he entered. To know Michael was to love him. Michael Steven Nolan departed this life on September 3, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include four brothers, William B. Nolan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, George (Seanaun "ATT") Nolan of Killeen, Texas, Mark Nolan and Zane Nolan both Bronx, New York and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins other relatives and many friends.
