Oscar Doris Price was born on July 22, 1929, in San Angelo, Texas to his parents, Doris Price and Willie Mae Hardiman Price. He was the second child born in the family. He was raised surrounded by his brother, Joe and his sisters, Willie and Ruby. As a child, he was athletic and enjoyed playing with his brother. He was happy, always had a smile and was good at card games. Oscar received his formal education in San Angelo, where he attended Blackshear High School. On June 28, 1962, Oscar enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his military tour, he was awarded a number of awards and citations for meritorious service. He served his country with honor and distinction and was honorably discharge after serving for over twenty years, at the rank of Master Sergeant (E7). After his retirement, Oscar became employed with IBM as a Computer Technician. He was hard working, meticulous and a man who performed his duties with superior excellence. Oscar was a fun loving man who enjoyed life and those he encircled. In his free time, he enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends. He loved holiday shopping at Walmart. His closest friends, Albert Bryant, Georgia Bryant, Robert and Daisy Merrill will miss the time they shared together and the fact that he was true and genuine friend. He will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known this one of a kind guy. To know Oscar was to love him. Oscar D. Price departed this life on August 30, 2013, in Denver, Colorado. Those left to cherish his memory include, one son, Alvin Price of Denver; one brother, Joe B. (Julie) McLemore of Gainesville, Virginia; two sisters, Willie Ann Bynum of Burleson, TX and Ruby J. McGill of Baltimore, MD and host of other relatives and many friends.
